You do realize that schools are closing due to COVID all over Florida. It only took a couple weeks in session for the disaster to become widespread. But the DeSantis administration believes the best path is to hide the data on schools. For example... 3 Central Florida schools closed due to COVID-19 cases https://www.fox35orlando.com/news/3-central-florida-schools-closed-due-to-covid-19-cases
Case count in Florida as of today: Obvious completion of the second wave (more on that in a bit). Deaths following the curve. Remember, that is deaths as reported. This is deaths as of the date of death. Much better curve. Infection rate ticking up (and will likely tick up further as schools are reopened). Right now, comfortably below 1. Positivity rate continues to remain subdued. and the most important chart of all: Showing that those 54 and younger are more likely to die of car accidents and other rare events than COVID. Those under 20 are more likely to drown or get hit by lightning. DeSantis causing all sorts of issues in Spain right now. And DeSantis always hated the French. Point was that all countries will get their resurgence of the virus as they open up. Because locking down solves nothing. The good thing about a scam is that it is eventually outed as a scam.
4500 schools in Florida. There are bound to be some jackasses who think closing a school for a few cases that pose almost no risk to students is worthwhile. You and Covertibility are a few from that category.
Here's one way to lower your state's COVID death rate.... have your administration declare that medical examiners can no longer certify COVID deaths. Then claim "independent doctors" will do this.... but don't hire a single (not one) independent doctor to do this. Medical examiners no longer certifying COVID-19 deaths in Florida https://www.wftv.com/news/local/med...19-deaths-florida/2YJRH7G47FBQLEN6QT63RZT65I/
From what I gather this would only result in a higher death rate, not a lower one. The Medical Examiners Commission said they can't keep up. The deaths will still be counted as COVID if the doctors say they are (and what doctor is going to deny themselves the COVID relief?)
Good luck with that assertion. If you don't have medical examiners certifying deaths as COVID then you will have fewer deaths attributed to COVID. The other amusing part of this entire "medical examiner" situation is that the state is claiming that they are having fewer COVID deaths while at the same time claiming medical examiners can no longer certify COVID deaths because they are overwhelmed with bodies.
How so? A doctor now certifies the death as COVID. They call the death as a COVID death (as they did before), it just doesn't require the association to certify it. Still gets counted. You think doctors are erring on the side of calling deaths not COVID more than they are calling them COVID? They were financially incentivized to call it a COVID death. You must be smoking some good shit up there in unicorn land. Because of what I said. No one but you thinks this results in less deaths.
The medical examiner system has been in place in Florida since 1955. Why suddenly change it now? A forensic pathologist, who is trained to perform autopsies is a much more appropriate professional to determine the cause of death rather than a doctor. Doctors don't usual certify cause of death and are not trained to do so. Of course, this is not the first time that the DeSantis administration has put a muzzle on medical examiners. Back in late April made them stop releasing death data -- something they did for all causes since 1955. Florida medical examiners were releasing coronavirus death data. The state made them stop. When the medical examiners’ list was available, it showed more deaths than the state’s count Apr 29 https://www.tampabay.com/news/healt...onavirus-death-data-the-state-made-them-stop/
