DeSantis will not be able to hide the COVID data in schools...

SCHOOL COVID DATABASE: Help Keep An Eye On COVID In Schools
Fired Florida Data Chief Building School COVID-19 Database, Seeks Funding

Fired Florida Data Scientist Rebekah Jones is building a national database to monitor COVID-19 in schools. The database could provide a look at what Governors may not want you to see — the infection rate in specific elementary, middle and high schools.

Jones, responsible for Florida’s official COVID-19 public database, was fired when she says she was told to suppress data to make Florida’s situation look better than it was. Gov. DeSantis confirms that she was fired for not following direction. Jones is now suing DeSantis in a whistleblower lawsuit.

After leaving her official post, Jones created her own database that pulls from public data streams — some of which are not publicized by Florida’s Department of Health. Her database often paints what is considered to be a more realistic look at Florida’s infection and death rates than what DeSantis and his lieutenants report. She has raised more than $200,000 in donations to keep the site active. Jones is now soliciting $20 for all users to create a national school database.

BocaNewsNow.com does not traditionally encourage our readers to donate to anything, but we are making the exception in this case. Knowledge is power. Next to a facial covering, information is the most effective way to get COVID-19 under control We strongly support Jones’ efforts to make sure children and parents know what’s happening in schools — especially when stories emerge like the suspension of a Georgia student, blasted by school officials for sharing photos of crowded hallways full of unmasked kids.

Here’s a link to the “GoFundMe” page for Rebekah Jones and her COVID-19 Database.

totally ridiculous. You agree that hugging with PPE on is reckless? Or are you just posting this as an FYI?

More data is always a good thing. I disagree on the whole "he's trying to hide it" but any effort to get more data is a good thing, so long as it is accurately collected (as best as can be).

The medical community believes that hugging in PPE is reckless. There are many articles in the past couple of days pointing this out.

I can state very directly that medical staff in a hospital are not supposed to touch other medical staff members when wearing PPE. Contact causes the spread of COVID - even with PPE on.

There are also strict rules about not touching items like your cell phone and not touching the front of PPE when removing it, etc.

The point about not touching your cell phone makes total sense as you handle your cell phone when outside of PPE so unless you somehow disinfect the cell phone before you get out of your PPE, don't handle it.

But if people are completely enclosed in PPE and hug, they should still follow disinfecting protocol when getting out of their PPE. So there should be zero increased risk.

This is just stupid, panic induced bullshit.

Are they going to go through the many hours of training required to properly use PPE that all the medical staff must go through and follow all the rules.

Will Grandma in the nursing home even be able to effectively put-on and take-off her PPE by herself without assistance (a requirement) without violating most/all of the rules.

Do people wearing masks in the grocery store understand that when they take the receipt from the cashier, or the products the cashier just touched and scanned across the scanner and handed them to the bagger who touched the same product and touched the bag and handed it to the person with the mask - and none of them have gloves - understand that their mask is totally worthless at this point? And so is that glass shield that was erected between the customer and the cashier?

This is how stupid we've all become.

    COVID isn't Ebola.

Using your mask in a grocery store..... is very different then wearing the full PPE gear that DeSantis is talking about using when hugging. Especially when DeSantis is pushing that you can hug grandma in a nursing home.
