Let's see what Florida Republican Senator Rick Scott has to say about DeSantis... Scott-DeSantis feud starting to boil over https://www.politico.com/newsletter...no-corcoran-running-away-from-reporter-490001 Enjoy the silence — The long-simmering feud between Sen. Rick Scott and Gov. Ron DeSantis — which has only gotten worse amid the months long coronavirus pandemic — is close to boiling over. Everything counts — Over the last few months, the Republican governor has repeatedly criticized Scott over the state’s deeply flawed unemployment website for crashing repeatedly this year as hundreds of thousands of desperate Floridians sought to apply for jobless claims. As the frustration and anger rose, DeSantis ordered his inspector general to investigate why Florida spent nearly $78 million on the system that came online in 2013. It’s no good — DeSantis said back in April that he thought the system was “designed” to fail. Then, this past week he went further even though he stopped short of saying Scott was directly responsible. In a television interview this week with CBS Miami, he said the system was built to create “roadblocks” for people seeking help and “internally constructed” to lower the number of claims being paid out. People are people — Scott fired back on Wednesday that basically said DeSantis was spending too much time blaming others instead of doing his job. "It’s a tough time to be a governor,” Scott said on Fox Business. “Some people are leaders. Some people take responsibility. Some people solve problems, and some people blame others.” When pressed, Scott said “go solve problems, quit blaming others.” Walking in my shoes — We know both men are potential contenders for 2024 and we’ve cataloged the previous times they have clashed, going all the way back to the transition period before DeSantis was sworn in. Scott has also thrown a bit of shade over how DeSantis has dealt with coronavirus, but without mentioning him by name. Just can’t get enough — In the months to come — especially after the November election — this will likely only intensify. There’s an investigation still underway. We have no idea how quickly Florida can retool the unemployment system if Congress passes another relief bill that greenlights payments once again. And eventually, Florida will probably spend tens of millions to replace the system it put in place just seven years ago. Lots of time for everyone to play the blame game. POINTING FINGERS — ‘Some people blame others,’ Sen. Rick Scott fires back at Gov. Ron DeSantis comments on state’s troubled unemployment system,” by CBS Miami: “Sen. Rick Scott has fired back at a comment Gov. Ron DeSantis made about the state’s troubled unemployment system. In a one-on-one interview with CBS4’s Jim DeFede, which was DeSantis’ first sit-down interview since the COVID-19 pandemic started, the governor said it looked like it was designed to frustrate users.”
Why don't you use the source that the majority of the press, medical community, and data statisticians are using - Rebekah Jones' portal. It includes proper data feeds, definition of sources, and much more complete information - allowing the downloading of data files as well. She includes deaths by date and by date reported -- something the Florida portal does not do properly still despite their recent attempt.
We've had a previous argument on the Jones portal in the past. You were pointed out as having been completely wrong about it, and you went silent. Here is the post I'm referring to... https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/desantis-for-the-win.345108/page-91#post-5161073 Remember? When you complained that the testing data that florida was showing was false, and then you quoted all incorrect numbers for testing based on Jones' portal? Never got an answer from you back then (despite repeated attempts) and haven't forgotten. So not going to use Jones' data until you can explain why she was so off (like I originally claimed). Additionally, the Covid Act Now data i post which you seem to go all looney over because it is starting to show a good story is backed by Georgetown University, Stanford Medicine, the Wall Street journal, the New York Times and Vox. https://covidactnow.org/?s=824153 Why is this source bad? Why is the Worldometers source bad? I use those sources almost exclusively except when I have no alternative (because no alternative exists for the data set). I've also used the CDC for total deaths (do you have a problem with the CDC, too??) and I've used the hospital data you and I both used from the ESS.
Her portal is completely on --- it reflects the best available information and is a trusted source for many media and medical organizations. The Florida state portal does not reflect information correctly -- in fact their main page was mostly down when I checked 15 minutes ago. When you make absurd arguments like the one you outline regarding the number of people tested... it is not even worth the time to engage. I will let others look at both sources and decide for themselves. Anyone who thinks the COVID information being presented by the DeSantis administration is transparent and not manipulated at this point has not been paying attention to what is occurring in Florida or is being driven by political bias instead of reality.
I asked for the source of the CDC saying if you test positive you can go back to work if you have no symptoms. I posted a source FROM the CDC that said if you tested positive you should stay home for 10 or 14 days and other follow up. So where did I stray off the beaten path? I gave you a fact to back up my claim and I am still waiting for your defense that Desantis claimed he was following a CDC guideline that if you test positive go back to work if you have no symptoms. You did not prove anything, you just quoted DeSantis. If a liar lies you cannot quote the liar as proof he was telling the truth. GWB and I are 100% interested in being corrected if we are wrong but still waiting and I went ahead and did the research on CDC and did not find what DeSantis said. So...
Guys, stop using media for statistical sources. They’re mostly manipulated. If what you’re sharing isn’t peer reviewed then you should be checking primary sources.
Like the woman's portal was down when I checked and back online when you checked? Big deal. You're in IT (supposedly). these things happen. What is absurd? You said that 500k was manipulated because the whole country tested 1.5 million, yet I showed you that the whole country tested around 5 million. You were completely inaccurate. If you don't want to engage, then get the fuck out of the thread and go post in your own. make up your own facts. Most of what I post has nothing to do with the DeSantis portal. So nothing you're saying here is even remotely relevant. As usual.
No you're not. I've gone through this ad nauseum for 130 pages. I don't have the time to deal with two GWBs. Click the link above and see what I'm talking about when I prove something and it isn't accepted or even answered despite the numbers being very clear. Here is the link. Just not worth it.
Your link does not address the issue of DeSantis claiming that people who are asymptomatic should go back to work ..... Not sure what you don't have time for, it is a simple question. I even did the work for you and showed CDC guidelines that DO NOT SAY THAT. How could you go ad nauseum over 130 pages when this just popped up?
