Probably a good deal of truth to this but I think the bottom line is if they are both going to run for President, they will clash pretty early because they are both in the same lane. The media will enjoy it and they will claim that it will hurt both of their chances.

The funny thing is when Republican candidates battle it out, the media says it will cause this grave damage to the candidate. When democrat candidates clash, the media says that it builds a stronger, battle tested candidate.

‘What’s wrong, Donald?’ New ad mocks Trump’s rift with Ron DeSantis
    https://www.rawstory.com/donald-trump-2656457394/

An ad released Friday by a group called "Remove Ron" mocks former president Donald Trump's alleged rift with Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.

“What’s the matter, Donald?" the ad's narrator states. "Is it something Ron said? Or perhaps something he hasn’t said yet? Am I right, Donald. We keep hearing reports that you're grumbling to friends at Mar-a-Lago, trashing Ron in private, calling him gutless, all because he hasn't ruled out running against you for president."

"Rumor is, you’re still waiting for those magic words from Ron," the narrator continues. "Isn't that so, Donald? But after all this time, if Ron weren’t thinking of challenging you for president, don’t you think he would have told you by now? Time's running out, Donald. If Ron wins re-election, he's coming for you in 2024. Your only hope now is to stop him before it's too late."

During an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity on Thursday night, Trump dismissed reports about his rift with DeSantis as "totally fake news."

"Those comments came in the wake of widely reported tensions between the two, including claims it would be 'too much to ask' for DeSantis to preemptively endorse another Trump term in 2024, while he lamented a 'dull' DeSantis and alluded to 'gutless' politicians who wouldn’t say whether they had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19," Florida Politics reports.

Seriously? You are a Joe Biden supporter. You should be embarrassed. The old saying about people who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones comes to mind.

In a way Ronald is the political son of Donald. Or as it would be written Ronald McDonald.

Please lord, make Ron Don's VP pick. I want to see the posters.

Ron DeSantis' 2024 Odds Dramatically Slashed Over Past Year
    https://www.newsweek.com/ron-desantis-2024-odds-dramatically-slashed-past-year-republicans-1675842

The odds on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis winning the 2024 presidential election have been slashed over the past year, as he has emerged as a popular figure among Republicans.

Irish betting firm Paddy Power told Newsweek on Thursday that the Republican governor's odds had moved significantly over the past year and that he's "done some impressive climbing."

Paddy Power was offering odds of 9/1 on DeSantis to win the 2024 presidential election on Thursday, while Trump's odds stood at 3/1 and President Joe Biden's odds were 4/1.

This time last year, DeSantis' odds of winning the 2024 election stood at 66/1.

When odds shorten - or are slashed - that generally means bettors believe an outcome to be more likely.

At 9/1, a $1 bet on DeSantis to win in 2024 would win the bettor a profit of $9 if he succeeds.

A spokesperson for Paddy Power pointed to President Biden's low approval rating as one reason why DeSantis' odds have improved.

The president actually saw a slight bump in his approval rating in the early days of 2022, reaching a high of 43.5 percent on January 3. His approval has since fallen back and stood at 41.8 percent as of Wednesday, according to analysis from poll tracker FiveThirtyEight.

"Trump is so entangled in his web of legal battles that his wide lead in the polls is diminishing, leaving the door wide open to DeSantis to crawl his way into contention," a Paddy Power spokesperson told Newsweek.

The spokesperson said DeSantis "has the potential to become a major fly in the ointment."

"For context, this time last year he was available at odds of 66/1, putting him in the range of Kanye West (50/1) and Jane Fonda (75/1) in the betting for the next U.S. president," the spokesperson explained.

"By February 2021, his price had halved, placing him behind Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson - currently 33/1 - in the betting," the spokesperson said.

However, DeSantis' odds have shortened significantly since February last year.

"By November 2021, his price was a fraction of that, seeing him shoot into an entirely different social set," the Paddy Power spokesperson said.

The spokesperson went on: "He currently sits at odds of 9/1, putting him directly behind the big three in the betting in Donald Trump (3/1), Joe Biden (4/1) and Kamala Harris (5/1) in the betting."

"Only the voters will decide if he'll be the next U.S. President, but if our betting could be compared to a social ladder, he's done some impressive climbing," the Paddy Power spokesperson told Newsweek.

Former President Trump has remained the favorite choice for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024 in a series of recent polls, but there are some indications that DeSantis could be a viable alternative.

A Suffolk University/USA Today poll released on Tuesday asked 176 likely 2024 Republican primary voters in Florida who they would choose in a primary. Trump beat DeSantis by 47 percent to 40 percent, but the margin of error for that question was +/-7.4. - putting the governor within range of defeating the former president.

Nonetheless, DeSantis is still facing an uphill battle if he hopes to challenge Trump in 2024. The governor has repeatedly said he's currently focused on his own reelection bid.

  9. That's right....if Ron is the candidate and if the election has to go to SCOTUS , we know how Ginni will decide.
Clarence Thomas is just a tool.

Ron DeSantis working behind the scenes with Clarence Thomas and his wife: report
    [IMG]
According to a report from Politico, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has developed a relationship with far-right Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and his activist wife Ginni, citing a watchdog group that has obtained information about emails between the three.

With Ginni Thomas under scrutiny due to her connections to the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection, which has led to concerns about her husband's votes on any cases before the court involving Donald Trump, Politico is now reporting on the burgeoning relationship between the two and the man who appears to be Trump's heir apparent.

"Emails handed over to American Oversight, a group that bills itself as a government watchdog, suggest that DeSantis is in regular contact with Justice Clarence Thomas," Politico's Gary Fineout reports. "In June 2021, Thomas' wife, Ginni, who runs her own consulting firm, worked with the DeSantis administration to have the governor talk to a coalition of groups, including people affiliated with Judicial Watch, the conservative organization that uses information requests and lawsuits to investigate public officials."

The report goes on to note that Ginni Thomas has bragged about her relationship with the potential GOP presidential nominee in 2024 and wrote, "...my husband has been in contact with him too on various things of late.”
