Let's get back to reality starting with TV media ... Nearly 40% of "news" on CNN, MSNBC, FOX, CBS, NBC, and ABC are paid product placements. Over 40% of programming are editorials with backers paying the network to push their positions. All the panel discussions and pundit shows fall into the category of content paid for by PACs, wealthy individuals, and corporations to push their positions. This leaves under 20% as "factual" reporting on news stories - which, of course, are still aligned with the agenda of the network. Newspapers are no different. Today "news" is simply entertainment with very little factual content. The era of factual reporting and proper investigative journalism is long gone.
The biggest threat to our country right now is the media. Of course a "free" press is essential to democracy. We don't have one, not by a long shot. China's media is more objective than ours. Bannon was certainly prescient when he said they won't give you your country back without a fight.
