Depiction of the Christian struggle

  1. You make a good point...but I think we can really tell the guy with the barcelona story was probably embelishing it quite a bit and if the Christians were here, im sure we would hear a completely different account of what happened. Often its hard for a Christian to share their faith so they sometimes need springboards to jump off of. This case being the subject of beer. I wasnt there, so I cant say whether these Christians were trying to self exalt themselves, but since they were offering him something (to come to their church, find God, ect) I do not believe they were trying to self-exalt themselves. But unfortunately, most non-believers see Christians as ONLY trying to exalt themselves which is very rarely the case.

If you truly believe someone is going to hell for thier sins, then you meet someone, and they are nice to you and you DONT tell them about the gospel, thats a pretty bad thing.

Imagine it this way. Imagine that he invited the Christians into the bar. Say the Christians somehow knew there was a man with a gun in there that was going to start shooting people, so the Christian said they didnt want to go in, but didnt tell that guy that there was a shooter in there. That would be pretty messed up wouldnt it.

I also wonder why the guy had his "night ruined" If he truly didnt think there was anything wrong with drinking and smoking...why would this upset him?

You see...this happened to me once too before I became Christian. Lets just say I was doing something I shouldnt have been doing and the Christian said something that although he didnt say it harshly...it definately "ruined my night" It ruined my night because i knew somewhere deep in my soul he was right and i really did not want to believe it. In these situations what usually happens is you either point the finger back at the Christian, or you just write them off as some "nutjob", or you just straight out say that the bible is not true so there is nothing to worry about.

It took years for me to realize how right he was.

But everyone can see Christians exalting a myth which is often the case.

If you truly believe someone is going to hell for their sins .....you may have some form of delusion or psychosis. That's a pretty bad thing. Would you possibly be better keeping that kind of thing to yourself, unless maybe a doctor is being nice to you?

Yes but a real gun is not the same as an imaginary God.

Perhaps being preached at is not everyone's idea of a good night out.

Had it been a human cannon ball who had said something "deep in your soul" you knew was right to ruin your night, would you have joined the circus?
Surely what is right is right.
Once realized and whosoever may have said it, right is right for its own sake and as such beholden to nothing or no one. Isn't it?
