One thing yesterday proved is that cons are a one person party now. The wagon is permanently hitched for better or worse. Sad really, they just bent over and let him put the mushroom in their giant vagina.

  3. And so, a minority "tyrannizing" the majority is better?

Something to think about. If, for some reason, Trump and Pence were unable to carry on in their positions, Pelosi could become President of the United States. Think of that horror.

The trend was pretty clear in the results with a massive increase in popular votes for the Democrats. This whole Trump supporter spin that it was some sort of victory was predictable and absurd. We appear to be in the era where bs is the norm in the US. People just say things loud enough and often enough and hope it is believed. The 2020 election remains open to win but absolutely nothing about these midterms was positive for the Republicans and it was particularly bad for Trump.

Not great for Trump personally. He will come under additional scrutiny.

    However

Winning the governorships in Florida, Texas, and Georgia was Big. Increasing the number of Republican Senators was Bigger - especially since RBG is now in the hospital and another new Supreme Court Justice could be selected.

I think things when better than expected for the Republicans.

Truth though - no matter who controls what, nothing much seems to be able to get done. Things are too big. Too many people needed to make simple decisions.

The original concept of democracy was conceived with the notion that all the participants would be relatively equal, ex ante. We are now seeing the lower end of the Bell Curve breed or magically appear at a faster rate than the higher end of the Bell Curve. We will dumb it down until the system is no longer functional.

Ah, more on the popular vote. You guys keep crowing about shots on goal while the other team runs up the score.

Taking over the House of Representatives - big win for the Democrats, no doubt about that at all. Absolutely.

Increasing its' majority in the Senate - a surprising win for the Republicans. And a little greater margin to work with in terms of getting Federal Judges and Executive Appointments approved for the next two years.

Her tax returns (on her husband's business revenues and deductions) would be almost as interesting as Trump's.

That's fair. One might also argue that former President Obama is the only real voice for the Democratic Party as well. Kind of a sad state of affairs on both sides of the aisle.
