The bill is a good start, but it doesn't go far enough.

How can you be expected to really go anywhere on just your regular pay? I think it should be time and a half for one week, and then once you qualify for 2 weeks vacation, it should be double pay. Also, there should be a goal of 30 days paid vacation for everyone in 5 years....even part timers and the unemployed.
The bill just needs a little tweaking. :D

They need something to promise during the next election cycle and it sounds like you found it for `em.

Holy crap, listen to the reason:

Well shit, let's send this economy to the #@^% moon! Permanent vacations for everybody! Yeah brother! We can vote ourselves rich, Rich, RICH!! And if that doesn't work, we'll just make the minimum wage 150 bucks an hour! Then we'll all be able to live in really big houses, drive the best cars and eat at fancy restaurants.

  4. Terrible idea, absolutely horrible.

Where will government stop its intrusion into the free market ?

Pay, working conditions, vacation pay and other perc's or the lack thereof should be a function of the market.

When labor is in demand, companies will pay whatever it takes.
When jobs are in demand then labor will have to take what it can get.

  5. Now that the government owns the car companies, I think the least they could do is give me a free Viper to use on my mandated vacation. Also free gas for it.

  6. What about all the people who don't work? Life is stressful. They need two weeks off a year. Give them vacation checks or just say hey, go spend two weeks at so and so resort and put it on the tab.

You could win a democrat primary with great ideas like that one. After all, who's sucking down the serious stress? Somebody who gets a paycheck or somebody who's trying to get one? It's pretty clear that any unemployed American should get two weeks at a nice resort courtesy of the democratic party. Or maybe 4 weeks if they've been out of work for a while.

Had you had a little more "foresight" and voted for Hussein, you would probably have gotten all you desire.

    UAW sure has.

When the 'free market' stops its intrusion into the govt and stops asking for bailouts, subsidies tax breaks and other socialist handouts.
