So no data showing the number of patients with amputations with co-morbidities outlined? Edit: I find lots of articles like this one: https://www.tctmd.com/news/covid-19-patients-arterial-leg-thromboses-risk-amputation-and-death Showing where patients with pre-existing vascular conditions are exacerbated with COVID 19 (though studies are small). So I go back to the diabetes or other vascular co-morbidity as the driving factor. But hey! Post another Dr. Evil gif. Those are always hilarious!
Not at all. If you posted an empirical study that showed that people without co-morbidity had a significant (5% or higher) risk of amputation because of clots and or vascular degeneration,. I would yield that you have a valid concern and this is a cause to be worried about. But you won't, because that isn't true. And that's why you won't (can't) post such a study. So, it is likely that the individual you posted about (Bailey) had some significant additional pathology besides COVID that may have been exacerbated by COVID, but was caused by something else. Which is what I said originally. This doesn't mean that people with vulnerabilities should be dismissed because of them. But they should be taking extra care to keep themselves safe. I've been saying this all along. However it is not my responsibility to keep them extra safe.
- Are you trying to claim that a good number of people who had COVID did not lose limbs. Or are you simply saying that they only lost limbs because they have a co-morbidity --- and therefore it is their fault and they don't really count. Care to explain the case of actor Nick Cordero who first lost his leg and then died from COVID. He had no known -existing conditions or co-morbidities. And he is just one example of a healthy person who lost a limb from COVID --- in his case 18 days after being placed in ICU. Nick Cordero, Broadway actor who battled COVID-19, has died at age 41, wife says https://www.cbsnews.com/news/nick-cordero-death-broadway-actor-age-41-coronavirus/
No Go Fund ME for an asshat with risk factors hanging around a super spreader white house... sorry but if he just listened to his CDC and not his president, he would not have been in the hospital for 3 months. Play stupid games...
Covid only spreads when people don't follow the rules...plain and simple. its a virus and needs another body and transfer to happen. If people stopped ignoring CDC guidelines, the spread would be contained and limited by now.
You obviously were so eager to wade in and get smacked down again that you didn't finish reading my post. Allow me to repost it, with the important points highlighted that directly address your questions. If you have further questions, I'll be happy to respond. Not at all. What is the percentage of overall cases? People who smoke all their life are more susceptible to cancer. This doesn't mean that Cancer isn't a risk to everyone, just that these people have to take extra care to prevent it because of existing health conditions.
Ah, but it is the "rules" that are the problem here. When I don't follow the "rule" that says when I get up from a booth in the restaurant to walk 3 feet to the door before going outside, does that make COVID spread more? Markedly more? What about when a playground outside is closed, but a school across the street is open? Is that a rule that, if I break and go to the playground, I aid in the spread of COVID while at the same time don't when I go to the school? What about outdoor dining in California? A place on one side of the street is forced to close because of COVID, but a political eatery holding a banquet on the other side of the street is allowed to remain open - this does not cause COVID? Are all rules just? Or are they just rules?
Some people that got polio weren't crippled and their immune system fought the disease off. Those crippled had the misfortune of having the comorbidity of shittier genes and a different immune system.
