You know, he really should. Send Bush Jr. and Sr. in there--with minimal armour and their own money--to clean up the mess they've made.

Obama and the Democrats deserve to start fresh.

Per the "security agreement" that the Bush Administration cut with the Iraqi Parliament last summer and designed by General David Petraeus ALL U.S. troops will be out of Iraqi cities by June 30th, 2008, and the U.S. military will end its presence in Iraq in 2011.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/11/27/AR2008112700536.html

The "security agreement" allows Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to request an extension of the deadlines if he feels Iraqi forces need help. But the prime minister's spokesman said the withdrawal deadlines, including the June 30 date, were "non-extendable."

Again, this agreement and timetable was created and developed by the Bush Administration last Summer and voted on by the Iraqi Parliament last November.

Contrary to the most incompetent Secretary of Defense ever (Donald Rumsfeld), President Obama appears to actually listen to his military leaders on the ground, such as General Ray Odierno and Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen.

    Congrats Nickie.

My IGNORE list is making new all-time highs. You truly are an idiot. But hey, don't feel too bad, there are plenty of "uninformed" kids using ET as their virtual playground while their parents are at work. :D

  5. First off, you need to understand that the fiscal year for the military budget begins October 1st.

The $83.4 billion is yet another "supplemental" to pay for our military presence in Iraq ( and the withdrawal of troops there), and the increase of troops and military resources in Afghanistan, as well as Pakistan.

The Administration can't wait for the appropriations process to get done in September or August in order to fund the withdrawal of troops in Iraq, as well as the increase in operations in Afghanistan.

The US military needs the money now.

The package includes items not related to the two conflicts, including $350 million for security and counter-narcotics work along the U.S.-Mexico border and $89.5 million for efforts to secure Russian nuclear materials and pursue disablement and dismantlement of North Korea's nuclear work.

Military operations are extremely expensive. The total tab spent thus far in Iraq and Afghanistan is roughly $660 billion as of 2008. Now tack on another $83.4 billion to get us through 2009.

Too bad no one listened to HW Bush's National Security Advisor, General Brent Scowcroft. :(

  6. That idiot probably has a hard time wiping his own butt. How can we expect him to get us out of the middle east?

It's sad that stupid people voted for him thinking this would happen, but they also probably have a hard time wiping their own butts.

  7. OK Lupus82,

Justify and apologize for the Democrats foolish demand for more money to throw away in the middle east anyway you want, perhaps you feel safer in your loft in the Castro at night knowing we have some boots on the ground over there or whatever.

Bush is history, the war is now Barkey's, his administration can do the right thing or the wrong thing, right now he is doing the same thing Bush did, Bravo democrats! The 82 after your name is your IQ, right?

  9. Does the trailer park that you live in not get cable tv? :D

During the presidential campaign, Obama, an early opponent of the war, promised two things:

1.) To withdraw all US combat troops from Iraq within 16 months.

2.) He would maintain a residual force on the ground to train Iraq forces, fight extremists and protect US assets.

He is following through on his promise within the parameters of the "Security Agreement" that the Iraqi Parliament approved last year.

I know you must not have been born yet during the War in Vietnam, but there were some serious mistakes regarding troop withdrawal in that war, and the destabilizing effect that it had on the region, and our allies. Obama is smart enough to understand that, hence the fact that he campaigned on a 16-month time line for withdrawal. You obviously aren't very smart and your "pea-brain" is unable to fathom why we don't initiate an immediate withdrawal.

Nothing new here, except to those white trash such as yourself Nickie
that never went to college and still live with their parents in the "double-wide".
