You have to buy a separate insurance for medication. Unless a drug industry is also nationalized in your country like your doctors. Secondly, how could someone from US undergo surgery in Europe without any proof of residence?
https://www.statista.com/statistics/1124036/number-people-killed-police-ethnicity-us/ It seems your news is rather fake news. In 2019, 259 Black people were killed by police in the United States. This compares to 182 Hispanics, 13 Native Americans, and 406 White people. The rate of police shootings of Black Americans is much higher than any other ethnicity, at 30 per million people. This rate stands at 23 per million for Hispanics and 12 per million for Whites.
No, I don't have to buy any insurance. Not for hospitalization, not for medication. I don't pay any insurance. You still don't get it. WE DON'T PAY ANYTHING. It is paid by the government from the money they get from taxes, sales taxes, etc... Any American can get an operation overhere. Off course not at our very cheap tariff as they don't contribute to our social system. They pay full price, which is still much cheaper than in the US. It doesn't matter where they live, they just have to pay in advance the full price. For instance a gastric bypass at full price in my country is apparently still much cheaper than in the US. Even if they have to pay for plane tickets and hotel. Childbirth: In the US: according to data from a recent Health Care Cost Institute (HCCI) report, the cost of childbirth can vary greatly depending on which state the birth takes place in. The procedure can cost roughly $8300 in Arkansas, while that total rises to nearly $20,000 in New York. In my country I never paid even $1,000. And we receive on top of that a subsidy of 500 Euro and childsupport till they stop studying, and totally free dental support till the age of 18.
Your govt hires doctors on a permanent basis using tax payers money while surely underpaying them compared to private doctors. So why would doctors on govt payroll do a surgery on someone who did not hire them? How do they set the price? Secondly this model of healthcare of eliminating health insurance all together by hiring doctors on a permanent basis cant include medication. As for drugs, they are constantly changing and require probability models to calculate their cost = insurance. Maybe would work for cheap generic brands but not for expensive drugs.
God forbid we should have a happy, productive and fair society like any of the Scandinavian countries. Oh...what a disaster that would be.
I have all financial information ( salaries and additional bonusses) from about 650 doctors in all disciplnes, so I know exactly who gets what. Most doctors (over 85% of the 650) have PRIVATE practice, so NOT paid by government. US doctors drive around in Ferraris, lamborghinis, Porsches...) and live in multi million dollars houses. Healthcare in the US is BIG business and very expensive. ALL medication is included in the bill. I have one now in front of me. The amounts I mention as payment are ALL included. I ha d an ear infection and had to let remove a cholesteatom. It is an operation under full narcose, they have to open your eardrum, clean and close it again. Cost: 2 days stay in hospital was 1,061 euro Scans and clinical labo was 323 euro Medication and substances needed for operation 236.83 euro Salary doctor was 1,532.38 euro Drinks (ordered by myself) was 2 euro Total real cost (what an American should pay):3,155.21 euro. Amount that I had to pay for all this: 34.49 euro Now try to find out what it will cost in the US and let me know. Found one: $11,829 A second hospitalization: heart cathederization Cost: 1day stay in hospital was 300.32 euro Scans and clinical labo was 103 euro Medication and substances needed for operation 80 euro Salary doctor was 523.50 euro Total real cost (what an American should pay):1,006.82 euro. Amount that I had to pay for all this: 14.89 euro Now try to find out what it will cost in the US and let me know. Found it myself: https://www.mdsave.com/procedures/c...-with-and-without-coronary-angiogram/d785fec8 Read this maybe: https://www.debt.org/medical/hospital-surgery-costs/
That healthcare in the US is horribly expensive and over 60% of all Americans cannot afford it. Obama tried to fix that and Trump cancelled it again. That's where we started. You were making insinuations about our healthcare system so I had to give more information. You did not like that information, so you called it "so little substance". Hurt in your national pride? https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/jan/07/americans-healthcare-medical-costs The Americans dying because they can't afford medical care
