Maybe you should get a better "attorney friend" - your legal problem would stem from causing a disturbance. You would be in just as much trouble if you shouted "cucumbers are good in a salad". It is not a matter of restricted speech - it's a matter of disturbing the peace. Looks like it's back to the broom closet for ya, fella...
Tampa - Since you're such a concerned and thoughtful liberal and also a strong proponent of gun control "confiscation" you should put a sign on your front lawn or house front saying "I support GUN Control", " NO guns in this house- ever". You could be really getting involved and setting an example, not just theorizing from afar. Let us know how it turns out.
Axie baby, unlike you, I don't have an attorney friend to turn to, so maybe you would be kind enough to cite the statute that forces a law abiding responsible gun owning citizen to leave his unattended loaded gun at home on a nightstand in a neighbor hood crawling with bad guys. I would do a search on Google myself for the law, but I am having computer problems. Some nut case unplugged my cable modem carelessly wielding a broom...
I'll do you one better, Doubtie my boy. I'll come over to your house and post a sign saying: Gun Loving Nut, itching for a shoot out inside.. That way the bad guy will be sure to shoot at the first sign of movement. So tell me, my friend, what percentage of homes have guns in them? Would you say about 50% Seems about right. So the bad guys have a 50-50 chance of entering a home with an armed and terrorized citizen on the other side of the door. Not very good odds, I am sure you would agree. But damned if it seems to deter the suckers. Now Doubter, I know that you have your heart and soul set on getting into a gun fight with some bad guy. And I really don't want to spoil your fantasy, nor do I want to take your beloved penis extender away from you. All I would ask is that any time that gun is not under your direct control, that it either be locked in a heavy duty safe, or disassembled to the point that it cannot be fired. If it is too much trouble to render the weapon useless when not in your actual possession, then you and I have a very serious problem.
There are lots of "Property insured by Smith & Wesson" signs around here plus many others you wouldn't like. Probably the percent of homes with a firearm is very near to 100%. However most people don't even lock their houses or remove the keys from their cars. Very little violent crime though. Nearly all of that is intra-family. Don't think I'll trade.
There are indeed signs that guns live at certain houses. Funny thing is, they make those houses safer. Would you rob a house with deer racks over the entrance, and shotgun shells lying on the ground, or pick the liberal neighbor (named Tampa) who refuses to own a gun? Of course being a boneheaded liberal, one might just choose the shotgun shack, and end up purifying the gene pool. One thing I can guarantee you, break into my house while I am home and you will die from lead poisoning.
Tampa..... you are amazingly ignorant of reality. It is a statistically measured fact that areas with liberalized gun control laws have a lower percentage of break ins. Need a source? Go read "Point Blank" written by criminologist Gary Kleck. You have constantly been destroyed in debates on this thread. Hang it up already. Oh wait.... you wont even debate your position. YOU STILL HAVE FAILED TO BACKUP YOUR ORIGINAL EMPTY ASSERTIONS. Better get back to sweeping up all the tiny pieces of your weak argument. peace axeman
