Yeah, let's get rid of guns. That way every thief on the street will be able to walk in our homes right through the front door. They won't even need to break in at night or go through windows. They will just come right in the front door. And they won't do it when your not home, no they will wait till everyone is home from school and work. Now they know you won't be able to defend yourself so they will just walk in with a semi-automatic gun, rape your wife and molest your children making you watch, then when they are done, they will rob you blind. That sounds like a lot of fun. Oh and if you don't think this could happen. Why don't you talk to my mother who was a child during World War II. The first thing Hitler did was remove the guns from society. Then when the Russian army came in from the east they knew all these german families had no guns and no way to protect themselves. I don't want to go into details about what they did because it was absolutely disgusting. But the one thing you don't want to give up is your gun. I don't own a gun because I am single and live by myself. But if I had a wife and children the only way you would get that gun out of my hands would be from my dead lifeless grip.

How did I prove your point? Criminals will always be able to get guns. It's the public that would be without them. I can't think of a more scary situation. Downright frightening, especially if your a family man.

Stringent gun laws, like so many other laws, would become just another tool of selective enforcement. Do you really think that an old lady who's been robbed 5 times would be prosecuted if arrested for handgun possession? Not a chance. But if you're Randy Weaver, gun possession becomes a reason for the Feds to kill your wife.

Any felony committed with a handgun is an imprisonable offense. Yet the threat of incarceration is still not enough of a deterrent to stem armed offenses. Why would a criminal who scoff's at the threat of 20 years for a $60 armed robbery be intimidated by 18 months for simple handgun possession?

  5. Why is it that liberals are eager to put law-abiding people in jail if they have the audacity to keep a weapon to defend their home but the same liberals can't bear the thought of punishing actual criminals?

Why is it that liberals can find some provision in the invisible ink section of the Constitution that gives you a constitutional right to have homo sex, but think it's perfectly constitutional to ban you from keeping a gun in your bedside table? And they claim republicans are the ones who want to snoop in your bedroom.

  6. Don't even bother Mav.
Bung is obviously a typical american or has been
completely brainwashed by the anti-gun media.

If people would take the time to do their homework,
research the statistics, research the cultural differences,
and the whole gun debate in general, they would not
draw the same conclusions as the anti-gun media.

    1) Most don't even know the real intention the founders
had with the 2nd amendment. They don't understand
    their own constitutional right.

    2) Most incorrectly assume that banning guns or passing
more guns laws will suddenly cause the gun wielding criminals
to magically START obeying the law :D This one cracks me
    up the most.

    3) Most don't realize that making guns illegal for citizens
would only increase gun deaths by eliminating the 2.5 million
uses of guns each year in self defense

    4) Most are completely unaware of the statistics surrounding
gun control laws and their real effect

    5) Most have fallen for the twisted and fallacious arguments
coming out of organizations like Hand Gun Control, Inc.
For example, they count suicides in gun statistics.

In general, most simply have not done their homework.

Here is a speech everyone who is anti-gun needs to read.
    http://www.nraila.org/Speeches.asp?FormMode=Detail&ID=13

Firearm ownership is an individual right guaranteed by
the constitution, and although many people have attempted
to twist what the 2nd amendment clearly states, you don't
have to do very much homework at all to find supporting
documents that the founders wrote, to discover their true intentions.

This is an emotional issue for a lot of people, and no matter
how many stats or logical arguments you throw at them,
    they will disagree with you.

I have generally found it to be true, that if your anti-gun,
and also a rational person, you are simply ignorant, and
will eventually change your mind if you take the time to
    discover the facts.

And for the record...no, I don't think everyone should be allowed
to own a firearm. (Mental illness, criminals, lack of firearm education, etc...)

  8. Yeah... this one is a no brainer if you look at the facts.

I watched Michael Moores movie "Bowling for Columbine" recently.
I cringed at the thought, at first, because I KNEW he would
    be horrifically biased.

However... the movie frankly surprised me, and I found it
to be a little embarrassing for Michael Moore.

He did a decent job of researching WHY we have so much
gun crime in the united states, but of course then drew
    his own biased conclusion.

The funny thing is... in a way, he actually showed that
guns were not the issue at all. His research did not
    support his conclusion one bit.

His trip to canada sealed it. They are as "gun nutz" as we
are and have lots of access to firearms, and yet, they
don't kill each other like we do.

This is in fact the same conclusion the statistics show.
There seems to be NO correlation between the availability
of guns and gun laws and crime.

In the end, all I can conclude is that americans are in general,
a more violent society. Remove their guns, and they still kill
    via other means.

The big problem is, some people ACTUALLY BELIEVE that
criminals will turn over their guns at the same rate as
law abiding citizens if we attempt a full out gun ban.

Turning citizens into sheep, like we did in Washington DC,
    is not the answer.

No prejudice or racism intended, just facts. In NYC, Chicago, and most other Northern U.S. cities the homicide rate among whites is about on par with major European cities. Here in the Chicagoland area only about a dozen of 500 murder arrests in any given year are of non-hispanic whites. As far as a white shooting ala' Columbine.... hardly limited to the U.S. Do those smug Canadians forget the nut in Montreal who shot and killed a dozen or so female classmates at his University several years ago. Also mass murders in the last decade, a City Hall in suburban Paris, school shooting in rural Germany, 20 grammar school children murdered by a weirdo in the U.K.

To misquote Al Franken (another moron) "Michael Moore is a big fat idiot".

  10. hey hey hey...relax...i don't want to take all your guns away...

i was merely making the point that certain types of guns have no purpose in the hands of said law-abiding citizens...

how many old ladies/hunters/collectors/heads of household who want to protect their family would you find wielding a street sweeper or .44 magnum??
