Watch: KJP Proves Just How Clueless WH Is on Border Crisis, Doocy Sets Her Straight

    By C. Douglas Golden August 30, 2022 at 10:31am
If Novak Djokovic wants to play in the U.S. Open, why doesn’t he just cross at the southern border?

Sure, tennis officials will likely notice that he’s showed up at the venue in Flushing Meadow, Queens. But maybe he can put on a fake mustache and play under a pseudonym. Say, Shnovak Bjokovick. Nobody’ll notice.

Alas, Djokovic didn’t think about this one. The Serbian tennis superstar will be absent from the final grand slam of 2022 because he isn’t vaccinated against COVID-19 — and even though the vaccines don’t necessarily stop one from getting COVID or from passing it on and even though a COVID test could easily determine whether he has the virus, the United States stipulates that all those who enter the country must get the jab.

Actually, let me correct that: All those who enter the country legally must get the jab. If you come over illegally, the government doesn’t give a hoot. That paradox was on full display during Monday’s White House media briefing, when Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy cornered White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre over the hypocrisy.

The question was straightforward enough: “How come migrants are allowed to come into this country unvaccinated, but world-class tennis players are not?”

    Trending:
DeSantis Breaks Major Engagement After 'Unforeseen Tragedy'
If the White House position was defensible, the answer would have been straightforward, too. Lo and behold, the Notorious KJP’s answer was anything but.

“The U.S. government cannot discuss the details of individual visa cases,” she began.

“Due to privacy reasons, the U.S. government also does not comment on medical information of individual travelers as it relates to tennis player.”

Should unvaccinated Novak Djokovic be allowed to compete in the U.S.?
    Yes No

Oh yeah: That’ll preserve his privacy.

Jean-Pierre also claimed that unvaccinated illegal immigrants and unvaccinated legal travelers were “two different things.”

Doocy continued to press: “Somebody unvaccinated comes over on a plane, you say that’s not OK. Somebody walks into Texas or Arizona unvaccinated, they’re allowed to stay?”

“That’s not how it works,” Jean-Pierre said. “It’s not like someone walks over.”

That’s actually exactly what’s happening. Or, as Doocy put it: “That’s exactly what is happening.” (Rational minds think alike, I suppose.)

    Related:

“Thousands of people are walking in a day,” Doocy said. “Some of them turn themselves over. Some of them are caught. Tens of thousands a week are not. That is what is happening.”

The two also locked horns over Title 42, the public health policy invoked during the Trump administration which allows for the exclusion of some illegal immigrants. The policy doesn’t apply to child migrants.

While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention extended it last month, the administration tried to end it in the spring. A court blocked the move, however.

“Why is there a CDC [vaccine] requirement for people that fly here as opposed to people who cross the southern border?” he asked.

“We have talked about Title 42,” Jean-Pierre replied. “There is a CDC provision for folks coming through the southern border. It is not just for tennis players.”

Yes, but the administration didn’t even want to continue the provision a few months ago — and furthermore, it’s still not applicable to everybody. One of the primary reasons the CDC decided to extend Title 42 is the fact the administration faced major blowback after reportedly releasing numerous migrants displaying COVID symptoms into communities.

“We’re releasing people out of the door day in and day out with actual positive tests for COVID and more keep popping up,” Chris Cabrera, a vice president of the National Border Patrol Council, told Fox News earlier this month. He also said illegal immigrants who don’t display symptoms aren’t even tested.

But let’s keep Djokovic out. That’ll solve the problem.

Alas, the U.S. Open started on Monday. Common sense hasn’t prevailed and Shnovak Bjokovick didn’t show up in a mustache for the first round of the men’s singles. If only he’d thought of crossing at the southern border. I mean, I know I’ve been assured that isn’t “how it works” by no less than Karine Jean-Pierre — but from all available evidence, that appears to be exactly how it works.

(Natural News) The United States’ strategic oil reserves fell to a 37-year low as President Joe Biden continues to release millions of barrels of oil and put them up for sale, with most going overseas.

According to the latest report from the Department of Energy, the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) fell to 453.1 million barrels as of Aug. 19. This is the lowest level the SPR has been since Jan. 1985.

Stockpiles have fallen by more than 180 million barrels this year as the Biden administration ordered the release of record amounts of crude oil, supposedly to cool sky-high inflation and rising gasoline prices. (Related: Biden and the globalists will destroy the oil industry and collapse the American energy grid.)

The massive sell-off began in March, when Biden announced that the U.S. would release one million barrels of oil a day for six months as energy prices soared following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

By early July, around 125 million barrels were already sold off. The White House then announced that the country would release another 20 million barrels in August, with around 18 million having already been released.

Despite the release of nearly 200 million barrels of oil, gas prices in the U.S. have not gone down significantly. In Dec. 2020, former President Donald Trump’s last full month in office, gasoline prices averaged $2.28 per gallon. Gas prices since then have risen, with regular unleaded reaching a record-high of $5.016 in mid-July.

The Department of the Treasury claims gas prices would be around 40 cents per gallon higher had Biden not opened up the SPR.

US keeps selling oil to Asia, especially to China

Tens of millions of barrels from the Strategic Reserves are going to Asia in record amounts. Buyers from China, India and South Korea have picked up more than 20 million barrels, with most scheduled to arrive in November.

Chinese corporations have received most of the sold-off American oil. Sinopec, a Beijing-based oil and gas corporation, received 5.9 million barrels in total from the SPR.

The company’s latest contract was for 950,000 barrels sold for around $113.5 million. The transactions were made between the Department of Energy and Unipec America, the U.S. trading arm of Sinopec.

Sales to Unipec appear to fall in the lower price range among the government’s successful buyers of the SPR, with the latest contracts showing that oil was sold between $7.95 to $5.6 cheaper than market prices.

It should be noted that Sinopec is a state-owned oil company with extensive ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). It has also received billions of dollars of investment money from an equity fund partly owned by Hunter Biden.

The federal government’s contracts with Unipec and other Chinese corporations have been subject to heavy criticism, especially since China was able to announce major cuts to gasoline prices after Biden sent the country millions of barrels of oil from the reserves.

“Biden is draining our Strategic Reserves at an unprecedented rate. This is an abuse of the [SPR], far beyond its intended purpose,” said Republican Rep. Clay Higgins of Louisiana. “Sending U.S. petroleum reserves to foreign adversaries is wrong, and it undermines our national security.”

“It does not make sense that we are using our already depleted energy supplies to help China build up their own strategic reserves,” said Rep. David Valadao, a Republican from California, in a speech rallying support for a proposal to prevent Biden from exporting petroleum to entities with ties to the CCP.

The proposal, backed by 209 Republican members of the House of Representatives, was overruled after 219 Democrats voted against it.

“If administration officials continue to ignore meaningful oversight,” Republicans will “use the gavel to get answers in January,” said Rep. James Comer of Kentucky, implying that the Republican Party will likely win back control of the House in the coming midterm elections.

“The American people need answers to determine if this is another attempt by the Biden family to peddle access to the highest levels of government to enrich themselves,” Comer added.

    The Tulsa Riot
    Emmett Till

    and...

It’s one of the most famous moments in sports history, or 20th Century American history, period. Jackie Robinson, the first player to break the pro baseball color barrier, took the field for the Brooklyn Dodgers on the road against the Cincinnati Reds. A hostile racist crowd poured abuse down onto him. But then, Robinson’s teammate Harold “Pee Wee” Reese shamed and quieted the crowd by walking over to Robinson and putting his arm around him in a gesture of support. It’s a moment immortalized in film, in children’s books, and even in bronze.

But as the Wall Street Journal revealed in a recent article, the whole episode never happened:

No newspapers reported the event at the time. In fact, the New York Post said Robinson had been “the toast of the town” in Cincinnati. The Cincinnati Post reported the day after the game: “If anyone had any objection to Jackie’s presence on the field, he failed to make himself heard.” Writing in his weekly newspaper column, Robinson called his visit to Crosley Field “a nice experience.”

The story of the Cincinnati embrace surfaced decades later in an interview with one of Robinson’s teammates, pitcher Rex Barney. But Barney got one of the key details wrong. He said he was warming up to pitch in the first inning of the game when Reese shut down the hecklers. The fact is, Barney didn’t pitch that day until the seventh inning.

In interviews I conducted with Robinson’s wife, Rachel, for my book on his breakthrough season, she insisted that no such hug occurred in 1947.

    [WSJ]

This wasn’t just a harmless myth. For decades, ordinary people in Cincinnati were tarred as hateful racists in order to further a specific narrative about America. They weren’t the only victims of myths related to Robinson. Enos Slaughter of the St. Louis Cardinals has been villainized for decades for slashing Robinson with his spiked cleats during a play at first base. But Slaughter always insisted the injury was accidental, and sportswriters at the game from both St. Louis and New York City agreed, saying that nothing appeared deliberate about the incident. Similarly, in the 2013 film about Robinson, Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Fritz Ostermueller is portrayed intentionally hitting Robinson in the head with a pitch before insulting him with a racist comment. In reality, the pitch hit Robinson on the wrist and there is no evidence of such an insult at all.

But all three myths will live on, because they are useful. They promote a certain story about America: That until very recently the country was overwhelmingly bigoted and hateful, and good for very little else. In fact, America’s entire 20th-century history, as it is taught in schools and portrayed on screen, is essentially “fake.” It is a sequence of myths atop myths, created to make Americans hate their ancestors and their history.

A full list of these myths could fill several books. For now, we will illustrate the point with some central examples.
