Democrat or Republican

  1. "When we expect to be right, any information that doesn't confirm our version of the truth automatically becomes threatening. Any information that has the potential to be threatening also has the potential to be blocked, distorted, or diminished in significance by our pain-avoidance mechanisms. It's this particular characteristic of the way our minds function that can really do us a disservice."

  2. "I just hit him with a good right. He went down."

    James "Buster" Douglas

42-1 shot who knocked out undefeated Mike Tyson in 10th round on Feb. 10, 1990 to win heavyweight title in Tokyo; 8 1/ 2 months later, lost only title defense to Evander Holyfield by KO in 3rd round.

Visiting "The Zone" is one thing, reading about it is another, intellectualizing about it and pretending to be in it is yet another, but staying there is an entirely different matter altogether.

  6. Republicans DO favor redistribution of wealth:
from 401K buy and holders to crooked CEOs,
    from equity daytraders to specialists,
from social security to the military,
    among others....

who told you that welfare addicts are the only parasites in this society?

I think all politicians only like to hear themselves talk. Egocentric little creeps the lot of them.
I think the last good president we had was the peanut farmer.

"The government consists of a gang of men exactly like you and me. They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government; they have only a talent for getting and holding office. Their principal device to that end is to search out groups who pant and pine for something they can't get and to promise to give it to them. Nine times out of ten that promise is worth nothing. The tenth time is made good by looting A to satisfy B. In other words, government is a broker in pillage, and every election is sort of an advance auction sale of stolen goods."

I have to ask myself why Jesse Ventura is not seeking a second term as governor of MN.

I suspect the answer is that with our current government structure real change is not coming, so he got tired of dealing with the Washington BS.

Lumber Tariffs, Steel Tariffs, and Farm Subsidies confirm in my mind that the Republicans are not about free trade and lowering taxes.

The ACLU, Candlelight vigils for death row inmates, and the mollycoddling of everyone who gets their feelings hurt in the workplace confirm in my mind that the Democrats are not pushing us in the right direction either.

Shame the average guy/gal is not going to be represented no matter who wins.

  10. Watching the election results coming in tonight, it is clear that the people have spoken their support for the current administration and the Republican agenda, proving once again that the majority has nothing intelligent to say.
