What I'm proposing is that the criminals in Congress seperate the issues. What I'm concluding as the result of DECADES of this game they play is they really don't want an infrastructure bill as much as they want the issue to yammer on about during the never ending campaign season. Blame those evil Republicans for the bill not getting through while knowing all they have to do is remove the social programs and the bill gets passed. If they actually cared about either issue, any issue, they would introduce bills that stand on their own. They don't care, so they won't.
I do think there's merit to this argument. However, I believe Congress can find support among their constituents for spending either on kids or local building, so I wouldn't say they don't care at all.
Separating the issues would be a great idea if it wasn’t for the filibuster. You have to understand the senate if you want to understand the federal law making process.
What I understand is that neither party is truly interested in any substantive infrastructure plan, never have been. Both parties have talked and talked for decades about our crumbling infrastructure while doing nothing. Anything getting done is at the state level, congress is useless on this and every other issue. They serve one purpose, to get reelected. Their incompetence is only outdone by their indifference.
Senate Parliamentarian, Elizabeth MacDonough did her job and put the brakes on Democrat attempts to legalize all illegals, migrants, refugees, dreamers in one fell swoop and guarantee they never lose another election. This is a cynical ploy to perpetrate the Democrats in power permanently, which must be opposed by all means necessary. Democrats need to be removed from power in the midterm elections in November 2022. That is the only thing that would stop their blatant abuse of political power. https://www.yahoo.com/news/senate-parliamentarian-sets-back-dems-001909237.html
Manchin wants to put if off until next year. Surprise, surprise. How much is he getting under the table from the DNC for taking the heat? But lets talk some more about it on the never ending campaign trail. For sure, they'll do that.
No doubt the RNC doesn't want it either. I keep telling you guys it's a team effort and you refuse to listen. DNC/RNC, same game, same goals, same same all the time. Reelection, period.
