If Elizabeth Warren wanted a Massachusetts moderate as VP she would be better off choosing Mitt Romney than Patrick. I can’t help how you think but I disagree with a lot of your assumptions in the dem primary and the general election. Not to mention your philosophy of being on the hunt to kill something. I get that’s what you want to see but that’s not how it will always work. This country is a mosaic of very different cohorts of people. You seem to like your politics in a fashion akin to Jerry springer and wrestle mania. It’s crude and it worked once for trump. But that does not mean it will work twice. Trump has serious issues. He will be lucky to get the same vote totals in 2020 because he is not pulling in new voters. In fact he is losing voters. Similarly, democrats have the benefit of knowing where they BARELY fell short the last go around. Trump may have the inside track but he is the most vulnerable incumbent since Carter. And, yes, I understand HW was an incumbent and lost but he was not as vulnerable as Trump is. As to the democrat nominee, you may not be thrilled with the field but democrats are. They overwhelmingly approve of their choices and are enthusiastic. See the last few governor races and midterms for more info on enthusiasm.
As to this debate, it really didn’t move too much of anything. Elizabeth Warren didn’t reposition herself on healthcare and taxes in a meaningful so that was a failure. I expect her to continue the downward trajectory. Buttigieg didn’t do much but didn’t hurt himself either. Biden stumbles and bumbled but remained likable. Sanders got a haircut. Klobuchar tried but was literally shaking. She remains likable. Harris made her case for “this election is about justice” but continues to hurt herself with unnecessary stuff like releasing an ad identifying Trump as a sexual predator before the debate. Tulsi wore that same white outfit and got smacked every time she tried to take someone down. Overall a snooze fest. Biden - stays the same Warren - declines Buttigieg- rises Sanders - stays the same
Here is the thing on Joe I think you guys might not be considering: Joe is safe. Sure, he's frazzled, old and can't find a coherent sentence with two hands and a flashlight, but that's what teleprompters are for. In a world of highly charge, highly polarized lunacy, Joe represents sanity and calm - a return to compromise and dialogue. No one on that stage, and certainly not Trump, can counter that, because they're all nuts - and I'm including Trump in that group. So people - like me, for instance - are looking at Joe and saying "he's the best choice of the sad, sad field right now". I would prefer Tulsi, but the democrats will never let her get a shot. So they'll go with old Joe as a backup,. Put anyone else in that group up against Trump and you'll succeed in making the crazy guy in the WH the best of the worst choices. The tallest midget.
Not only that look at his finances. Which brings up another debate Point Elizabeth Warren tried to score off of, big money donors. She tried to chastise the field for taking big money because she doesn’t understand the base of the democrat party. And the base is not stupid enough to think unilaterally disarming is a good idea. Totally out of sync With the Party.
Au contraire, I think most here and in the voting public have not really considered much other than the fact that Joe is allegedly the safe candidate. That is all we have been hearing day in and day out, that Old Joe is not very zippy, but he is the old pair of shoes that you have that seems familiar. I don't even accept the fact that voters feel safe with Joe. They are just scared or confused with all the other loons and don't know where to turn. There is not a dem voter out there that supports Joe who does not also pray to gawd that he does not just totally shit the bed and crap out when he appears in public. Their brain may tell them they are safe but their gut does not. They deal with their denial by acting and talking as though the only goal is to get Joe through the campaign and to 2020. As if there is nothing else that Joe needs to do beyond that, such as maybe one of the most demanding jobs on earth. Joe is my number one pick when it comes to who I want to see the dems nomnate.
Except, Joe Biden is not going to be the nominee. Hillary Clinton is just waiting on her globalist backers to destroy what is left of these Democrat candidates. The reason Hillary Clinton attacked Tulsi Gabbard is she is the only serious candidate that will actually, get votes from moderate Democrats, Independents and Never Trumpers. This bogus impeachment is about two things. One is to finish off Joe Biden. Hard to believe that Democrat insiders have no inkling on his Ukraine dealings? Even Obama raised concerns over it during his time. The second one is they hope to weaken President Donald Trump in the lead up to November 3, 2020.
You may be right. Its is hard to think of a bigger blunder than to bring Hillary into this to run against Trump again.
She has my full support. Right now I am supporting Joe Biden, but I am flexible kind of guy. If she runs, they will update her tee shirts a bit to say "I am with they" and she is good to go. Yup, I am here for her. I am a giver when it comes to Hillary.
Ya know if Hillary just comes out of nowhere now and declares she's back in the mix, I'm thinking that is going to piss off a bunch of the young Dems. I mean think about it, if I was young and enthusiastic about the whole process and I see tons of other young people out there busting their asses knocking on doors, putting up signs, going all in on a candidate they believe in and then all of the sudden this old bat just steps in at the 11th hour and says "vote for me because I'm Hillary".... f that. I'd be pissed. I ain't votin' for her. #OK_Boomer.
