Deming took a lot of ordinary ideas and put them together to do an extraordianary thing. My hat is off to him. The place I now work for sells really bad stuff but has ex politicians on the board of directors to help them with the regulators. I don't like it, but it makes me work harder to get the trading business going. One ordinary idea Deming used was compounding. For example if you raise your quality by 5% per year you double quality in 14 years. It's just the "magic of compounding" as Einstein is quoted as saying. Intelligent energy plus compounding really adds up to something over time. Persistence is the key ingredient. Man am I starting to sound like Jack Hershey a little?
