https://spectator.org/the-democratic-party-is-collapsing/ The Democratic Party Is Collapsing It is so consumed by TDS that there is literally no room left for any positive policy agenda. If you have had difficulty finding some reason to support the Democratic Party and its increasingly bizarre policy positions, you are not alone. Two national polls released on Sunday reveal that the party’s favorability ratings have plunged to catastrophic lows. According to a new NBC News survey, just 27 percent of registered voters hold a positive view of the Democratic Party — its lowest rating since 1990. Likewise, a new CNN poll indicates that only 29 percent of U.S. adults regard the party favorably — a low not seen since 1992. These two polls confirm an equally ominous Quinnipiac survey conducted last month. Both surveys clearly illuminate why the public harbors such a low opinion of the Democrats, and why this is very unlikely to change. The NBC poll, for example, found the following: “Democratic voters say they want their party to hold the line on their positions even if it leads to gridlock, rather than focus on finding areas of compromise with the president.” The CNN survey suggests that a similarly suicidal perspective pervades the party: “Democrats and Democratic-aligned independents say, 57 percent to 42 percent, that Democrats should mainly work to stop the Republican agenda, rather than working with the GOP majority.”
The Democratic Party is fine. All they need to ask themselves is when was the last time the incumbent party kept The House or White House when the incumbent President had a net negative approval rating. Trumps disapproval was 52% in Gallups last poll prior to the 2018 midterms,Dems won 41 House seats.Trumps current Gallup disapproval is 51%. As long as Trump has a negative approval rating on Gallup Dems are cruising to a House win in 2026 and White House win in 2028,and Trump has never had a positive approval rating on Gallup, ever.
After losing the presidency, house, senate, and SCOTUS, it’s understandable why you might be hyper-focused on the midterms. I’m operating under the assumption that Republicans will lose both the House and the Senate. It seems to me that the Trump administration—and I share this perspective—is acutely aware that we only have a two-year window to accomplish our goals, which is why the administration is moving at such a rapid pace. Figures you went with the white male for your gif. I care about diversity.
Oh, one more thing—how many Democrats do you think will face indictments by the midterms? They’re coming—it’s only a matter of time. I am sure this is one of the repubs strategies. Much like they did to Trump just before the election, they’ll likely time any indictments to align with the midterms and the 2028 election.
Dems will win the next House and White House election, they won't win the Senate in 2026 though. They will win all 3 in 2028. As far as Trump moving at a fast pace everything he is doing is being done by executive order,so it can all be undone in one day.Unfortunately Trumps 5 trillion in tax cuts will get through Congress so we will be stuck with 5 trillion new and continuing debt that can't easily be undone
Without doing a deep dive, I generally think that you might be correct wrt '26 & '28 simply due largely to historical precedent. However, I believe repubs need to send a clear message to the dems by fully leveraging and weaponizing the shit out of the justice system. All trials should be held in states like Texas and Florida. I want Trump to wield it so effectively that the dems are being for mercy and left with no choice but to seek compromise, ultimately leading to permanent reforms that prevent such tactics in the future.
Doesn't matter imo.The incumbent party has never kept the House when the incumbent president had a negative Gallup rating.Even with some indictments Dems will still easily win the House. As stated,Trump had a negative approval rating in 2018 and Dems won 41 House seats.
Well, I think that depends on how many are indicted. Do you honestly believe that his guy isn't throwing some dems in jail? I am presuming that at a minimum Raskin, Schiff, and Hillary are going to jail.
I'm sure they will try,but I don't think it will be enough for Republicans to keep The House.Republicans need to be careful as there will be a new DOJ in 2029 that can go after them.
