Something is very wrong with the GOP idiots in Congress. A NY state criminal case has nothing to do with the Biden administration. Shutting down the country and randomly indicted Democrats because you don't like the conviction of Trump is idiotic. Republicans join Trump's attacks on justice system and campaign of vengeance after guilty verdict Republicans in Congress are embracing Donald Trump’s strategy of blaming the U.S. justice system after his historic guilty verdict https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory...s-justice-system-campaign-vengeance-110735697
“We see you haven’t voted yet,” the mailer notes. “Your voting record is public. … Your neighbors are watching and will know if you miss this critical runoff election. We will notify President Trump if you don’t vote. You can’t afford to have that on your record.” Said a totally not desperate mailing sent to Republicans in Texas. Really? The prosecutor whose opening statement kicked off the historic trial of Former President Donald Trump left a lofty perch in the Biden administration Justice Department for his current comparatively modest New York City job – a career move that legal analysts describe as puzzling and one that's prompted questions regarding motivation.
It's amazing how MAGA GOP members are trying to make Alvin Bragg's career sound like a nefarious plot to take out Trump. He has lengthy career in federal, state and New York City government. Let's briefly walk through his resume. Associate at Morvillo Abramowitz Grand Iason & Anello. Associate for State Attorney General of New York (2003) Chief of litigation and investigations for New York City Assistant United States Attorney (federal) in the Southern District of New York (2009) Chief Deputy Attorney General of New York (state) - Ran the criminal justice and social justice divisions (2017 - December 2018) Professor at the New York Law School Elected New York County District Attorney for Manhattan (November 2021) Knowing Cyrus Vance was not running again for New York County District Attorney, Alvin Bragg deliberately left his job as Attorney General of New York to run for this office as a Democrat. He won the Democratic primary in June of 2021 and then the general election in November of 2021. The New York County District Attorney is the most prestigious state district attorney jobs in the U.S. Based in Manhattan, it deals quite a bit with white collar Wall Street crimes while also setting policy for prosecution for other crimes. This job can hardly be called modest -- and I will note at $210,000 per year it is the highest paying public sector job he has held (noting he was paid more for private law firm work). Being an Assistant United States Attorney for a district can hardly be called a "lofty perch"; Assistant is the lowest grade in the U.S. District Attorney's office (here is the pay chart so you can see his "lofty salary").
We are not even discussing Bragg. It is Matthew Colangelo. Why did the DOJ big wig come in? Did he need a massive step down career move? Or might he get payback in the future? Hmmm
So Bragg hired someone from the federal government who previously worked on Trump cases and had a wealth of information. Seems to be a pretty obvious step if Bragg wanted to put forward the best possible case. Remember the history when Bragg first took office; he was reluctant to move forward with cases involving Trump. The beginning of this article will provide a reminder. Who is Alvin Bragg? District attorney who prosecuted Trump says he was just doing his job https://apnews.com/article/manhatta...-bragg-trump-122d18a4ae43e3190df54a4b7ec297ff When Alvin Bragg took office as Manhattan district attorney in 2022, he stunned the public and his own staff by pausing an investigation into former President Donald Trump that appeared to be hurtling toward an indictment. Two top prosecutors were so upset with the decision, they quit. One called Bragg’s hesitation to bring a case against Trump “a grave failure of justice.” Now, Bragg has cemented his place in history as the first prosecutor to win a criminal conviction of a former U.S. president. Speaking after the verdict Thursday, Bragg summed up his role by saying, simply, “I did my job.” “Our job is to follow the facts and the law without fear or favor, and that’s exactly what we did here,” he told reporters. Trump and his supporters insist Bragg, a Democrat, had a vendetta against the former president and presumptive Republican nominee. He has relentlessly accused Bragg of manufacturing a baseless case for political reasons. (More at above url)
From Bragg's perspective it's great but you still haven't considered why a top DOJ man would go so far down the legal rungs. Think it might be at the behest of WH? Nah, right? That would make it political. Except that all of the pending and completed case involving Trump had meetings with WH officials. Political? Nah, right?
You cry-anus, Everything is political. Take your tongue out of Trumps ass for a minute and refresh yourself with Ken Starr and The Clinton’s. Trumps been skimming and grifting NYC for yrs. Boo-Fuk n- Hoo.
It's amazing how a career fraudster who has been more or less constantly in court for involvement in civil law violations and has been ordered to pay millions in restitution to his victims would think it is a good idea to run for President of the United States. (Trump's been involved in over 4000 law suits!!!) Most criminals want to fly below the radar. Not this one however. What does that suggest about his basic intelligence and mental processing. He's pathetic, but certainly not in the sense that anyone other than himself will ever feel sorry for him.
