Dell's "Deals" Not So Good.. Thanks to Vista

Discussion in 'Hardware' started by gnome, Jul 2, 2008.

  1. Going to XP from Vista is not a downgrade its an UPGRADE.

    VISTA SUCKS DONKEY BALLS!!!!!!!

and Microshit should be sued for forcing it on people. When you order a new Dell of course you can have XP installed on your machine........................ if you want to pay the fucking downgrade rights of $190.

Don't buy the computer with the XP option. You can easily find a corporate copy of it if you try hard enough.

  5. After what I went through earlier in the year . . . Why in the world are you screwing around with a Vostro?

Did you not purchase a Dell Precision T3400 Workstation several months ago?

    WTF???

Yeah, WTF.... I bought a Vostro because (1) it was a deal "I couldn't refuse", and (2) I had a single dedicated function use for one. It's OK for that.

    I've also bought 3, T3400s...

BTW... I tested a NVS 290 PCIEx16 + a 285x1 card in the attempt for a 4-monitor rig in a Vostro... BIOS said, "no way, HoseA".

  7. My Vostro 400 refurbished deal was $519 and included a 3.0 Intel Processor with Windows XP.

As you know, I bit on it.
And it nearly choked me to DEATH!

    :(

  8. Build your own. I put together a system with an Intel quad core Q6600 processor on the cheap and it performs great.

  10. Correct.

That is the one that I was unable to use the eVGA GeForce 6200 PCI graphics card with, in the PCI slot so that I could support a 3rd monitor.
