Intel has lowered their prices for their chips but Dell has kept them the same. Anyone have any idea when Dell would start to reflect the lower price structure for the intel chips?

    Thanks

They may not. Box makers try to keep the average selling price higher by adding more RAM, better DVD, etc.

  3. What are you talking about? I'm in the market for a new PC and have been keeping a close eye on Dell's pricing. It has come down quite a bit, especially in the Outlet area. I got a refurb C2D E6600 Optiplex with 2GB of RAM, Vista Business and 3-year warranty for under $600 the other day. You can't build something this cheap yourself.

  4. It also depends on where you shop. Just bought a Dell 6400 Dual-Core laptop for a client. Intel based and realitively loaded for approximately $800. :)
