are you still doing 3x27"s? if so, then Scat is correct, amazingly... try seeing if the 2xNVS310's are lower cost... and they should come with the cables... at least the HP stuff ships with it, so doubt DELL would not, but you never know... if you get into the DMS59 then you add a bit more complexity because of your country it appears... you would have to fund still either DP-DP or DVDI-DP or DVID-DVID.. (if I recall those monitors should have DVID as well)...
According to the spec sheets the NVS310s come with 2 DP to DVI adapters, while the monitors come with DVI cables. I will still ask Dell Thailand to confirm, can't assume that what is done in the States will be done here. Yes, decided on 3x27". Tough choice, until I cut up papers to the display size for 4x24" and 3x27" and planned. TWS and SC fitted better in the 24", but in both cases I had 1 dedicated monitor for Excel, and working with multiple spreadsheets at a time is better in the 27". Excel is the basis of my trading, so that was that.
"... then Scat is correct, amazingly..." --ofthomas He thinks nobody knows anything about computers, trading rigs, multi-monitor except him. Inappropriate, egotistical digs like this is why I have this ass ON IGNORE!
LMAO, being on ignore by someone like you means little to me... so dont worry, I am on ignore, and your ignorance also shows quite well in all your postings most of the times... when you are right, I will acknowledge it... when you are wrong, I will point it out to ensure people dont just follow the advise of a fool who thinks knows everything, when in fact he doesnt... and feel free to do the same thing to me, contrary to you, i know how to humble myself enough to ack and recognize if I dont know something... but in your case that must be a foreign concept, I realize that much.
Personally, I'd go for the 1620 if not out of price range.... significant gain in RAM performance but also clock speed. (Dell "set up/limited" the RAM performance of the 1603/1607 to encourage upgrading to 1620 and greater. Suggest checking out Dell Outlet for 1620s and their comparative prices... Outlet recently had a 1620 w/8GB RAM for $889. I thought that a decent deal.)
Looking at the specs of the NVIDIA NVS310, they read; Max single or dual digital resolution (DVI or DP):- 2560x1600 (DP) 1920x1200(DVI-I) Does this mean that if one uses the DP-DVI adapter, the resolution will drop to 1920x1200? The 27" monitors are rated at 2560x1440 optimal resolution.
Don't know whether that limit applies to proposed 27"ers, but is generally the case.... and another argument for having 24", 1920x1200 monitors... easier to accommodate all around*. If you're going to use DP-DP cable, suggest ALL monitors in the rig be connected that way. However, DVI Dual Link will also display 2560x1600. There has been 1920x1200 and 2560x1600 resolution monitors for quite a while. The new 27", 2560x1440 is a new twist on 16x9 display.... not sure how all of the older video cards accommodate it.
look at that, scat is right again... Partially... anyhow, the card will be fine with your resolution using the dell 27's,.. The monitors have dual link dvi's... So you will support the max... but double check the monitor, in case I am wrong ...
