OK, FEDEX guy was already here today. Got this server out of the box. Had bought two cables from AMZN. Plugged everything in. Windows 10 whirring, reinstalled Win10. Had to jiggle one monitor connection. Both monitors now working. Thanks Mr. Scat. !! You know your stuff
As your video card has 4 ports, easy to imagine you finding a reason to add another monitor (or 2)... just seems to go that way. GL!
Oh yeah, going to four monitors ASAp, next week? Only issue so far. Seems this server has some blocks to youtube. I watch a lot of financial stuff (e.g. Palisades Gold Radio) YOUtube (this tower) works fine on the MS browser, but does not open videos on firefox. Any idea where that kind of a toggle is located ??? Thanks in advance CB
That wouldn't be a hardware problem... either Windows or FF. Try searching something like "youtube videos won't play" both in the browser and at youtube. Probably something simple. Maybe the "popups" setting in FF?? It's under Privacy and Security.
Last day job I had (HSBC.com - nearly 20 years ago), used to have meetings after everything. Especially if there was a problem. Casually called the "Post Mortem", because somebody might be dead afterwards. Might be blood on the walls. When I departed that job, I was in charge of deploying new builds to the public facing site. When I would deploy to that (the Production site), I ALWAYS had to include in the forms which was the "Revert" build, if the new build didn't work, it had to be reverted to the most recent good build. Question now, what's with Big Techs, like Microsoft. What's their excuse?
No excuse. Quality is subjective. They don't want you to revert or stand pat because they need you to accept what, in many ways, amounts to a "worse" product. This way they can basically force you to accept changes which favor their business model. Thus they can remain competitive and grow margins. Did WinXP have intrusive adverts all over the place? Of course they still care about their customers but they're not pushovers willing to sacrifice themselves for your benefit. You're either a hamster on the "upgrade treadmill" or you're their competitor. That's what makes the world work.... you think MSFT wants to lose business to APPL and GOOG forever? Btw, good luck w/ the "new" machine.
Yes, and because of the obvious defects in Win11 OS, I bought a used Win 10 server. Plugged it in, the lights go on. But I am trying to use my non-MSFT spplications that I favor. Like Mozilla Firefox. Seems this Firefox install doesn't want to load Youtube.com, or gmail. Cutting in on the MS applications, like MS Edge, and MS Outlook. Maybe I'm way out of line with this complaint but: These MS people look to be way out over their skiis.
