Even I agree with almost everything he said except for the following two; Should the US withdraw from the world, secure its borders and resort to mercantilism? A resounding no. Why would pulling out of everyone's business lead to mercantilism??? And Does the good done by the US outweigh the bad? The question is rhetorical in nature, but the answer is likely yes. Give a time frame (60s and over) and you will see that the bad outweigh the good by miles.
I would like to clarify one thing that wael said to dddoo. If there is a second coming of Christ it will not be Christian fundamentalists forcing Jews to convert - It will be God giving them a chance to get it right this time. Before anyone gets all offended please note the statement is qualified and that qualification makes the statement true by definition.
Make them watch John Hagee videos 24/7 for eternity. <object width="500" height="412"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/4MUf3ffSjE4"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4MUf3ffSjE4" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="500" height="412"></embed></object>

LOL LOL LOL.. trust me i have watched more Hagee videos than i care to admit. all kidding aside.. he will tell us more about what is to come than anyone... and not because god talks to him.
When I said "withdraw from the world", I wasn't just talking about militarily. I meant completely. IOW, isolating ourselves from the world. People want (get) things from the US other than goods. Withdrawing from the world in a military sense disrupts many of the trade arrangements we have. Economicaly speaking this is not good for any nation that we do trade with. Also many countries like Nepal recieve a significant amount of aid from us. It would be a shame to see that withdrawn. In the end, specialization and trade are good and they shouldn't be restricted. In regards to the second statement. It is plagued with rhetoric and speculation. The bad is very easy to quantify, while the good is very difficult. This is more of an opinion question, so it probably shouldn't have been included.
