Meta ends DEI. Meta disbands diversity team and says DEI has become ‘charged’ https://www.theverge.com/2025/1/10/24340846/meta-disbands-diversity-dei-team-charged Meta is eliminating its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs because of the “legal and policy landscape surrounding diversity, equity and inclusion efforts” in the US, according to a memo to employees seen by Axios. Meta will also roll back representation goals and end its “diverse slate approach” to hiring. The memo, which was written by Janelle Gale, Meta’s vice president of human resources, said the company would replace DEI programs with ones “that focus on how to apply fair and consistent practices that mitigate bias for all, no matter your background,” as reported by Axios. The company will also “end efforts to source business suppliers from diverse-owned businesses.” “The Supreme Court of the United States has recently made decisions signaling a shift in how courts will approach DEI,” Gale wrote. “The term ‘DEI’ has also become charged, in part because it is understood by some as a practice that suggests preferential treatment of some groups over others.” Meta spokesperson Tracy Clayton confirmed to The Verge that Axios’ reporting is accurate. The news follows Meta’s appointment of the Trump-friendly policy chief Joel Kaplan. Meta also recently announced its plans to replace third-party fact-checking with a Community Notes system similar to Elon Musk’s X. Meta also overhauled its Hateful Conduct Policy, making changes that now “allow allegations of mental illness or abnormality when based on gender or sexual orientation,” among other horrible things, and announced plans to move its moderation teams from California to Texas due to concerns about “bias.”

Companies which force their employees to invest in ESG fund options in the corporate 401K plan rather than place the money in better performing mutual funds are violating the law by not being proper financial stewards of their employees retirement investments. It appears that this court case involving American Airlines may force an end to the practice of ESG 401K plan retirement investments. This is the end of forced "woke" investing aligned with DEI corporate practices. American Airlines broke the law by focusing on ESG in 401(k) plans: judge https://nypost.com/2025/01/10/business/american-airlines-focus-on-esg-in-401k-plan-is-illegal-judge/ A federal judge in Texas on Friday said American Airlines violated federal law by basing investment decisions for its employee retirement plan on environmental, social, and other non-financial factors. The ruling by US District Judge Reed O’Connor appeared to be the first of its kind amid growing backlash by conservatives to an uptick in socially-conscious investing. O’Connor said American had breached its legal duty to make investment decisions based solely on the financial interests of 401(k) plan beneficiaries by allowing BlackRock, its asset manager and a major shareholder, to focus on environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) factors. “The evidence made clear that [American’s] incestuous relationship with BlackRock and its own corporate goals disloyally influenced administration of the Plan,” wrote O’Connor, an appointee of Republican former President George W. Bush. The judge ruled after holding a four-day non-jury trial in June, in a class action by American pilot Bryan Spence on behalf of more than 100,000 participants in the retirement plan. American did not immediately respond to a request for comment. BlackRock was not involved in the lawsuit.
Say goodbye to DEI at the FBI. FBI closed DEI office in December, agency says President-elect Trump will take office on Monday https://www.foxnews.com/politics/fbi-closed-dei-office-december-agency-says The FBI has closed its DEI office, Fox News can confirm. "In recent weeks, the FBI took steps to close the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI), effective by December 2024," the agency told Fox News Digital on Thursday. The agency didn't specify why it had closed the office, although many Republicans have been critical of it prioritizing DEI, saying that had overshadowed national security. Earlier this month, Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray claiming that "radical" DEI practices had "endangered" Americans following the New Year’s Day terrorist attack in New Orleans. "I am deeply concerned that—under your leadership—the Bureau has prioritized Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives over its core mission of protecting the American people," Balckburn wrote in the Jan. 3 letter after referencing the attack. The FBI page on diversity and inclusion – that was still on its website as of Thursday – says the agency is "committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive workforce. In 2015, the FBI added diversity as one of the organization's core values. It continued: "We believe that differences in thought and belief, in race and religion, in orientation, and in ability contribute to more effective decision making, drive innovation, and enhance the employee experience. We know that a more diverse workforce allows us to connect with and maintain the trust of the American people. We also understand we have work to do. We stand committed, as today’s FBI, to fostering a culture of inclusivity and diversity." Former FBI special agent Nicole Parker told Fox News Digital: "I appreciate all forms of diversity. Make no mistake of that. What I do not appreciate is when there is a constant push for social justice weaponization at the FBI whose top priorities are to protect the American people and uphold the constitution." This is President Biden's last week in office. President-elect Trump will take office on Monday.
So getting rid of DEI there is fine... but claiming DEI is the reason americans died in new orleans from a nutjob driving his car into people? That is a herculean stretch... FBI is not even involved
