  1. Blacks,Browns and Asians need not apply.

    Why DEI is needed.

  2. That is not true. Their qualifications will obviously vary.

  4. @El OchoCinco This is a perfect example of the problem with DEI.

@insider trading wants Trump to utilize a racist system of selecting his cabinet by skin color instead of, you know, actual competence or qualifications.

  5. LOTS OF BRILLIANT WELL ROUNDED STUDENTS WERE REJECTED

Again when was the last time you applied to college or university.

11% of people were accepted to UC Berkley... they do not just take the top numbers in ACT or GPA. DId you read the kid's essay, did he do volunteer work, did he spend 110% of his time in school only, what kind of recommendations did he get, how good was his essay (as a coder he might have had a shit essay), how good were his supplemental essays?

If someone with a lower GPA and ACT got in were they not qualified to get in? Was this kid one of 6000 students applying for computer science major for 1500 spots?

You dont know shit about college acceptances

  6. @gwb-trading... asians make up less than 10% of the population but over 20% of admitted students... is that discrimination against Asians??

please stop on your DEI rant.... dont say DEI...say the words out loud..

you dont want diversity, equity nor inclusion.

Your belief is that a 35 ACT and 4.5 GPA gets an automatic admission into U of C... no they fucking dont... U of C does not want a class of classroom robots, they want students in all majors and from all over. That means with 125,000 applicants in 2024 U of C accepted 12,000.

THOUSANDS OF TOP KIDS WERE REJECTED.

But U of C is not going to accept 6,000 comp sci or business school majors. What you want to study is also taken into conideration.

Man just look in the mirror and say "I may not know anything about how colleges accept applicants when they get 125,000 applications and only have room for about 12,000.

  8. Its actually the opposite.@insider trading wants Trump to utilize system of selecting his cabinet by actual competence and qualifications.

Trumps chooses his cabinet largely by race, thats why he has some of the lowest approval ratings ever, considered one of the worst Presidents ever, has never won the majority vote in 3 elections and already has net negative approval ratings in most polls less than a month into office.

  9. Do you know how many geniuses get rejected by Harvard and MIT every year? TONS.

Every school tesll you to your face, we do not accept based solely on GPA and ACT/SAT grades but want to see a well rounded applicant.

A kid with a 4.1 and 33 ACT will get in over a 4.5 and 35 ACT because:
    1. ACT is a test you can prepare for months in advance and practice so it has some but not major weight.
    2. A kid who is 1000% focused on school often does little other activities outside of school that is interesting to colleges and their essays and supplementals are bland and boring.
    3. THe other kid may have started a non profit or volunteered to did sports and still made honor roll indicating an ability to balance workloads and outside interests.
    4. The other kid may be applying to a smaller lesser school with less applicants, it goes by major and school, not just university wide.

In other words, you are out of touch because you do not have a kid in the process. I ahve gone through it 2-3 times recently and doing it now still and my son got ino a school last year, this year he would not have gotten in because the mix of kids changed.

Shit happens...kids get rejected who are qualified... it is not because a dumb minority took his place.

  10. last comment,

my son is a perfect example... got into school A which is highly ranked.

School B and C which were 30...yes 30 places below A, and considered safer bets, rejected him. Why? could be a lot of reasons but nothing is guaranteed based on test scores which are mostly optional now. Also ALL of these kids are taking AP, Honors, and DE classes now who apply to the top 50 schools.

Friend A who chose a high ranking school got in with lower scores than my son and my son didnt...why? His major was wildlife and fisheries while my son was applying to the business school, the most popular major at that school. Friend A had a smaller pool to compete against for a spot. Was my son mad? Maybe at first but realized he was applying to a major with a smaller group of applicants...that is who admissions works...it is not apples to apples across the whole board. Thousands over the max capacity applied to the business school and they had to reject a lot who would otherwise get in.

Oh and last year race was removed from the Common App so was blind pretty much. % of accepted students at his school still were about the same with minor changes.
