The Rise Of Automation and 3-D Printing. The Brexit Effect I have been doing some very interesting reading, on what seems to be the direction the world is being engineered in or accidentally steered into depending on the opinion... With Automation and 3-D printing, it seems much less globalization is required, and evidently seems to be decreasing and shall continue to decrease over the next 10-15 years. China is clearly the biggest winner of globalization and theoretically will be the biggest loser of deglobalisation. China already has implemented a draconian social credit system, and with high unemployment looming around the corner, for a nation of almost 1.4 Billion it could spell disaster for current regime. What effects do you think Deglobalisation will have in North America ? Brexit being the main catalyst it would seem of this trend, will wages increases ? Company profits shrink ? Logistics involved into new manufacturing ? Here are articles, although old, were quite ahead of there time with sound logic and arguments. https://phys.org/news/2017-05-robots-carbon-globalisation.html https://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/o...e-victim-deglobalisation-161016052547323.html
Once this “populist bubble” bursts, the trend will be towards borderless countries, 4 to 6 years out. I would short heroin and cocaine futures, if no borders the prices should drop. Prices are trending up now, but there will be a point in time where you can make a lot of money shorting them as this populism theme fades. The same trade would also be long firearm futures...either way you are playing the same de-populism bubble burst
What do you propose will be the driver which will burst the "populist-bubble"? Are we all going to have a "come to Jesus" moment and be clamoring for a world government? Highly unlikely.
The US is in deep decline. Our reliance on Indians and Chinese is beyond belief. I have lived in Asia for many years. To think that have any allegiance to the United States, our core system of history and values, is foolish. I actually left academia because in each and every graduate department there were Indians and Chinese who did little but extract information and promote their own. The Chinese are the worst and yet we kotow. The United States is weak and getting weaker because we have no core values. The concept of diversity has taken away any sense of unity.
Great Question, perhaps then I should rethink my trade. Get super long Heroin and Cocaine futures.... because the populism theme stays. I really don't know, great question....I'm just a trader. These contracts are ultra volatile right now, they are trading pretty lately with all the wall talk...but if that theme ever changes.... prices in these narcotics should drop as they will be flooding in as the gov't looks the other way. Right now they are just trading on speculation of a barrier/wall. 90% of US heroin comes from the Mexican border, Cocaine I don't know the stats though but I suspect the amount is 75%+
