Defense stocks have had a real nice move up over the past week or so. Check out LLL, from $35 to $45 in one week! Also, LMT, NOC, ATK for some nice 20% moves, with volume!
relative to the broad market (either S&P, naz, or dow) the defense stocks have been very weak, especially in the midst of a war that may get extended to other countries... hmm...what's the significance?? ...i've interpreted it to mean that the GOP will not win in 2004, but then again, you tend to see whatever it is you're looking for... http://elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=217852&highlight=reelected+AND+defense#post217852 peace, -b
The Defense sector does not need the GOP in order to continue seeing growth in the DoD. The Democrats cannot afford to "discount" anything on Defense or Homeland Security for that matter. The most recent bashing of the dem's in Congress best illustrates this. As a result, you will find strong support for increased DoD Budgets by BOTH parties!
