@Def, regarding Daytrading margins for Futures

Discussion in 'Retail Brokers' started by Merkur, Dec 19, 2001.

  1. Does anyone know what the new margin requirements are for the full S&P contract?

Are there any minimum requirements for having an access to that daytrading margins for e-mini futures?

I.E. minimum deposit on an account or minimum monthly trading volume?

    Def,

I tried twice to get confirmation and further help from helpdesk. They keep telling me to check with CME, and apparently they have no clue about what an intraday margin could be.

Is there an official statement about (for ES) anywhere in IB site?

    Thanks a lot

the policy should be that intraday margin is availalbe to all EXCEPT at 5 minutes before stocks close, margin reverts to full margin. The intraday margin is 50% of the full margin. I think e-mini is $3,938. Thus if you have 2000 in the account you should be able to do an intraday trade.

Is it now 5 minutes before close of stock market or still 10 minutes?
