    Becoming a Trader

So you have decided to become a trader, or you already are a trader and want to add some new thinking to your skill-set. This is great. But it is important to recognize, trading is difficult at best, and it will take a LOT of time and devotion to become good at it. Much of this reason has to do with you. I might call this the “enemy.” You will learn the meaning of the saying, “I have met the enemy, and I am it.”

For this reason, discretionary trading (where you are making decisions in real time) will likely take a long time to master. If you can do it in 6 months or a year, you are probably doing well. You will constantly be in a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation. And you will have to be free from attachment to ideas and beliefs; maintaining objectivity at all times.

There will be times where you will make a correct analysis, but will miss the trade, or, you will get stopped out and then the market will go exactly where you said it would go.

This will make the establishment of risk / reward difficult, because in order to be successful, you will likely have to let the market breathe. Not trying to force it into your conceptions of what is true or false.

Trading is also difficult because you are constantly entering new positions; re-establishing this risk reward game, over and over again.

This is very different from having bought Walmart in 1979 and you now couldn’t give a hoot if it fluctuated 40% during the year, because on each entry, the risk starts fresh, and is not based on previous gains as it is with the Walmart example, but new money at risk.

There are psychological and financial barriers with this that WILL be overcome for you to be successful. Much of the time, the risk might seem to outweigh the potential for return, and the bottom line may come down to ticks.

Further, you may need to know many things all at once; empowering yourself with some form of omniscience. You will miss things, you will see after the fact.

Often, trading is identifying what is about to occur- not that you are seeing into the future, but as the patterns change, it causes the need for re-evaluation in real time.

Many times you will enter a position and your analysis will at some point become the opposite of your position. You have to deal with that and you may have to reverse what you are doing. The market plays many tricks and creates traps, and when you get in them, the market will move strongly the other way.

Much of trading is learning to avoid these situations. When you are wrong, you have to be nimble.

Much of what I have designed in the Nindicator package and written about on this blog is geared around helping you with all these things, but the bottom line will still be you. Because of this, there are many layers to what makes you successful.

Just be aware, it will likely take some serious work to get there and that there are no easy ways- Many things are stacked up against you; commission, slippage/ bid-ask spreads, management of risk, giving back what is gained. etc. etc.

You go down this road alone and must acknowledge you need to be a warrior who progressively hones his skills. If I have not scared you away, in all of this, then we have successfully determined you are crazy, but have some serious warrior blood in your veins.

Having established that, and knowing that you are not simply in denial about all the things stacked up against you, becoming a trader might just be for you.

Thanks for supporting my blog :)

    My reply:

I am here; making the donuts since early London open.

    Every day I am here~

And everyday they keep coming in for their sugar high. At this point in my career my regulars give me the most satisfaction.

Been looking for a HUGE order lately; alas--'tis summer and life and time is precious.

Looking to slow the donut shop down a bit until fall when I get more of the working crowd to come in the shop.

Then I find myself working harder than ever (even in the summer). Work, researching for new recipes to try out and the hiring and firing of staff; keeps me busy.

There is no wealth without work. I'll be opening a bigger donut shop in Sept./Oct. of '12.

    Got some?

What about the 'deep' 89% retrace {based off of the MIDDLE of a 'gap' open}.

Isn't that where the 'machines' are programmed to go long or short off of?

    haha!!!

Well, here on the lake in the summer I have chicks on both sides of the cottage with their g-strings so far up their asses it is downright g*ddamned disrespectful.

Disrespectful to them; disrespectful to their parents and disrespectful to me.

It is no wonder I trade London to about 10:45am est; any later in the a.m. or in the p.m./afternoon session est (when they are around and shaking their pussies in the wind) and I would have to multi-task; I'm not talented enough for that.

Actually, for my 4 part-distilled THC tincture I prefer moonshine from a friend in Georgia (an attorney part of the 'group'~I would give his address for thirsty travelers, but I will respect his wishes for privacy). 190 proof Everclear is excellent as well.

Speaking of; where is MY nurse with my medicine?? I keep hitting the f*cking call button; nothing.

  6. '2 & done' early in U.S. session...weekly goal hit today (which is quite pleasing).

Currencies are moving wonderfully this week; as expected. Looking to add to pullbacks in my 6E 'campaign' trade off of the June multi-month bottom for a multi-month advance HIGHER.

Lots of great price action in GC (during early London session); trading conditions are ideal right now {if you trade 'the world'}--not just the U.S. indices.

A special kind of day for me now. Early tennis lesson & then I sneak my tincture into the club's lounge and 'feed' a girl or two some of 'my juice'~~not Jesus juice--Cardinal Hedvig's juice.

The plan is to disorient, distract & destroy a nice young well-to-do 'on her way to university in the fall' girl.

    3 pronged approach

    a) Distance from elders (further the better)
    b) Cannonball technique (THC tincture w/high-alcohol content liquor)
    c) ABC; always be closing

    Full trip report later...

Cardinal Hedvig from the 3pt. line~~SWISH!!

A direct hit (of her cervix wall). Utter debauchery & filth was achieved.

My "Thoughts" are; I went "Deep"--feeling more than satisfied, more than satisfied.

Predator mode switch: off 'til Friday.

p.s. Had to hang out with the little cooze for an extra 3 hours until she sobered up a bit from 'Hedvig's juice.' I'll never get those f*cking hours back.

Should have given the full trip report; was pressed for time {went to a PARTY last night~~it was a good one}. No 'double' on the day though {London was calling}.

Failure on the 18 yr. old. Failed badly 2X's and got laughed at by one of them.

We soldier on; it is what we have to give.

Caught a 22 yr. old. I take what I can get. She was a bit classy for me. I'll detail my typical 'score' in a later post(s).

Still; all in all~~she was fun but couldn't hold her 'high' "proper-like."

Again, that was an extra 3 hours of my life I'll never get back having to wait until she was lucid enough to leave {I fucked her up good on the GDT ('Green Dragon Tincture').

I was tempted (I do it about 75% of the time) to steal a $10 or $20 or MORE out of her purse; pussed out on that though. I only steal from the older ones--there are surely lessons to be learned when a woman is stupid enough to sleep with a man like me; indeed.

Daddy's girls @that tennis club http://www.nortonpines.com/programs-a-services/sports/tennis (no golfing there). See that time slot on Wed. a.m.? 'Elite' I am a leftie and I'll 'cut' you when I play singles!

No offense to golfing clubs, but that 'tis what a married man does to get away from his awful 'worse half' for 5-7 hours at a time on Saturday & Sunday.

I gotta keep making the donuts today~~expect to be busy until after 11am est (nearing London close).

peace & blessings to all of my pimps & Hos reading my tomes.

    p.s. Any females reading this?

  9. I used to have a wicked serve when I played regularly and used weights.
Could have easily picked up on a girl at tennis class in a community college, if she was only more attractive. Tennis can be useful sometimes in that regard.

I do appreciate a good 'swingin' trade from time to time.

LF is dubious but this was a good forecast; indeed.

Forecasting and trading a 'trade-able' move in the markets are 2 distinctly different (and yet related) skillsets.

I urge everyone to let go of the ego/the moola~shekels~money & learn to 'flow' with price action and structure.

You didn't get into this profession to be 100% correct and bully the market and basically talk your way out of mistakes (that is what people with shitty jobs working with awful people have to do); we are MOTHERF*CKING money merchants!

We buy & sell money; period!!! There is no ego; step into the void of your mind and go DEEP within the 'dust & nothingness' of a non-emotional trading plan~~from planning to entry to management to completion.

If you can't say it; you can't do it. So just do it and FORGET about the f*cking money.

So let that trade go to your target and when she does; go f*ck a hog--because she's f*ckable. Unless your gag reflex is a bit iffy.

Mine is~~so hoggin' is only done after I have taken a Xanax and a muscle relaxer w/some amyl nitrate.

I only reach up and ascend into 'hog heaven' for maximum age of 24 {fat women expire after 25; basically becoming disgusting tubs of sh*t}--had a bad experience 12 years ago with an older hog and it scarred me.

You ever smell the ass of a fat older-than 25 year old woman?? They should torture terrorist leaders with that smell; I decided.

Going to the gym {+2.10% on the intraday today} to look @the high school girls on the treadmills wearin' the short shorts and legs for days!!!

p.s. I do have an 'in' on a 17 year-old fatty right now; however, I have to consult with my older partner on the phone so that he can advise (I like his input on a 'borderline' "hoggin" prelim. status report).

He is in China so I have to wait until tonight for the consult.
