  1. Good advice

If you are looking at Amibroker - Howard Bandy has a couple of introductory books that will shorten the learning curve.

  4. Make sure to try <A href="http://www.datatime.eu/public/gbot/GBotScreenshots.htm " target="_blank"> this</a> program too (IB only) .

This bot incorporates also a powerful <a href="http://www.datatime.eu/public/gbot/TickDataBacktesting.htm" " target="_blank">backtester</a> as well as forward tester (random tickdata).

    A beast. ;-)

The latest TradersStudio version has three inbuilt backtesters which can be used in cases like Equity Curve Program and to select the best stocks from a portfolio for profits.

You must have understood that the guy is a payed spammer from a TradersStudio. What value could be expected from the "reviews"?

I have tried almost all trading programs, at least the ones have demo versions.

    The most promising are

Wealthlab Pro -- good for EOD
Tradestation - Easy, powerful but some acute limitations
    Amibroker - Fast, difficult
    Multicharts - Slick, promising
Ninjatrader -- promising but buggy last I checked

    ---
First if you go for intraday trading then most programs are too slow. There are only a few programs on the market that are fast enough to test intraday systems and that narrows it down to Tradestation, Multicharts, and Amibroker. Integrated data is big plus for TradeStation too. Tradestation has a huge support community which is important.

The biggest limitation for TradeStation for me are that it is hard to do portfolio, pairs, hedging without add-on. They bought Rina (and Grail) but no add on yet. Also, another big limitation is that TradeStation doesn't offer historical volume at price data. Currently going to look into Seer.

Please suggest any platforms capable of making more like HFT strategies, drag/drop, cheap.

If/when tradestation takes advantage of add-on properties then I can't see anyone beating them... hope they get this done soon
