I wonder when the CME will reduce the tick size of the ES?
The only reason ES trades in .25 increments while the floor spoos trade in .10 increments is to provide arbitrage opportunities for the remaining S&P floor traders - who aren't needed. This arbitrage stunts the movement of ES breakouts making it choppier to trade. Instead of adding value, the floor is subtracting value in the S&P index.
