the currency wont became devalued because the military is everywhere and rest of the world has to play along otherwise they'll get into trouble.

in essence, the rest of the world is paying for the US to maintain their global dominance and occupying their territories.

hence, the empire still have many years ahead as the dynamics in place is very difficult to revert. in 20-40 years when china GDP surpass US', a more balanced share of power will take place but still no US demise.

probably no one reading this board will see the day the US is no longer the world's superpower, as it will take plenty of time.

The thing the liberals have done for the American trading empire is stopped the drilling of oil, so when everybody else has run out America wins if you vote for an oil driller in the future.

  9. Rome fell and we are headed down the same path. They also had an expanded military presence. If you think China is going to roll over.........well that is laughable. But it would be nice to squeeze out a few more years. What has made the currency and military strong has been our economic might. Without that, we are a has been. Look at Russia, that is all they have, just a military.

So the real issue is US economic dominance. Military alone will not save the currency.

  10. Exactly. The Byzantines were much more advanced and much more wealthy. They lasted about another thousand years to be immediately replaced by the Ottomans.

Just at that same time when Byzantium fell, the city states of Italy - Florence, Milan, Venice, were rising and the Renaissance was just about to bloom another 100 yrs later.

Many people are clueless about history, and they make erroneous assumptions based on a lack of knowledge.
