With the growth of Amazon et al., It's amazing that more stores and malls haven't gone under.

There are dead malls all around the world. People just don't want to go to a store to shop anymore. Why go to a store when I can order stuff online and have it delivered right to my own home?

  5. there's no protection that creates a good environment for businesses to thrive. then the bad forces (drugs, guns, gangs, ...) would take over the good forces who create values for society. if there're a lot of bad forces with destructive power, then a lot of businesses are going to cease to exist. then people can't find employment. then who's going to pay taxes? no wonder federal revenue is on the way down.

  7. On a historical note, this is just a page in the death of brick and mortar retail outlets.I have traveled the entire continental and have heard and seen many cases of mall meeting their demise. From NY to WA. Population shifts to newer suburban areas and mismanagement on the part of mall owners results in the loss of floor traffic and sales.
In WNY I can of 3 locations that shut with no correlation to the retail theft. McKinley Mall, Boulevard Mall and Main place Mall. The buildings have been tried to repurpose their use but to know no avail. The Malls followed the demographic shift from urban centers to outskirts of suburbia. When the populations saw a decrease in disposable income the Malls moved once again to a better resource pool.
Retail consumers no longer want to travel half a block to fill their perceived needs and delivery to the door is the way of future sales.

Crime in malls , strip malls or individual stores are out of control. It most certainly is the results of liberal policies as well as people who choose to engage in crime.
