here's an afternoon setup that didn't work. entered at 1005.5 around 14:20. stuck it out for almost an hour took 1/2 partial at 1006 on the last visit there when it started looking like it wasn't going anywhere. Took stop at 1004.5. Cost me 1/2 pt es. Typical afternoon play for me.

Can't really say that the setup looked very strong to begin with but it seemed valid at the time. Any comments on a good reason I should of passed it?

  3. Looks like you stopped out when the previous pivot low had been touched but not violated at 103.75. If I was up 2k for the day I would probably have waited for 103.50 before stopping out. :)

I know. this is an issue for me sometimes, I got lulled into convincing myself it wasn't going. 1003.5 actually was my stop and I made an emotional decision/mistake to get out.

missing that last one was fustrating for me, hope you guys got it. just when I think I've got the issue with sloppy, emotional trading under control and forget to consciously control it, it comes back and kicks me in the ass. At least I'm aware of the problem, afternoons are generally bad for me. Getting up at 2:30am to trade Eurex is making it worse because I'm getting tired and loose focus by 2:00pm east coast time.

thankfully today ended in the green but coulda shoulda keeps reminding me what could of been

I really sympathize with you on this issue. I am constantly working on exit strategies, especially ones that take the realtime decision making out of my hands. You seem to have done the same thing I am guilty of. You get close to your stop, you've been waiting a while and you say to yourself, well there it goes, I'm going to get the hell out before it really tanks on me. You assume (I should say I assume) that price is going to continue past your stop. My advice is don't use mental stops, or if you do, just tell yourself your going to stick it out until your stop is actually hit. Easy to say, tough to do. Good luck. Steve46

  7. Hey folks, can anyone help me out with the new symbols for tradestation for YM, ESTX50 and DAX? I would really appreciate it. Regards, Steve46

  8. Well Ladies & Gentlemen:
I havejust spent 30 minutes of my life that I would like to have back! Apparently, I cannot trade the Eurostoxx50, or the DAX from Tradestation, because according to tech services, they do not "have them yet". Also, I cannot get a data feed for these tradeables either "we don't have it yet". I'm getting a little pissed with myself for having started an account with these folks.

Go with SierraCharts. I've been using them since October and couldn't be happier.

Thanks, I'll give that a go. I think its time to move over to IB for my main brokerage account as well. It's too bad, I had hoped to have a better experience with Tradestation. Oh well, live and learn. Best Regards, Steve46
