So I've upped the pace on my walking. My goal is now 30 minutes of brisk walking 6 days a week. I was reading that brisk walking is much better for you than regular walking because you are walking at a much faster pace which elevates your heart rate. Yesterday I walked 1.7 miles in 30 minutes which was much higher than my usual 1.3 miles. I tell ya I felt like I was busting my ass for 30 minutes trying to walk that fast. No leisure walking there. After I was done I truly felt like I had been through a workout. I have seen brisk walking defined as doing 2 miles in 30 minutes so I'm going to work on increasing my pace to that.
