My point is there are much better and healthier ways to make good money than watching a quote machine all day long...... B*S*. This is one thing you wil lNEVER have as a day trader! It's a JOB --------------------------------------------------- Freedom is one benefit.
Any business you run has its freedom. Running a regular business is just soooo much easier compared to trading.
I absolutely agree. Working 3 or 4 hours each morning while leisurely watching the tube and playing with the dog, spending the afternoon playing in the yard and pond and capping the day off with the family. Boring . . . yea . . . please . . . don't let anyone talk you in to having this as a goal.
any self employed job where you stay at home is boring,im a young male and hasnt had a real job since i was 19,and i dropped out of junior college when i started on ebay,i made more money working from home than all my friends and family who went to college except one friend who went to yale and now works for leonard green but to the topic of being bored,my best years on ebay i made well over 100k and i was bored out of my ass,i still am on ebay and ive averaged 10-12k so far this year and honestly i have all the freakin free time in the world,im so bored..i run and work out at least 5 days a week you know what though? i wouldnt change a thing,i never want to make the morning commute,i hear stories all the time from friends about work drama and im soo glad im not part of it..does this mean im anti-social as one claimed? no,im more outgoing than majority of my friends bottom line is..id rather be bored and have all the freedom in the world than not be bored with very little freedom ps ive been a lurker here for some time, ive dabbled in the market but i want to day trade,a few stocks that i think can do very well as a day trader, hopefully i can learn some things from you guys
chipmunk Why anyone would chose to day trade is beyond belief. I'd rather be dead. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// I'm not sure your opinions count for a whole lot. You are the same guy who was very critical of everyone who didn't see the bull market back in April as you did. You also picked a half dozen stocks on 4-15. most of those stocks are down around 20%. With your record of predictions I wouldn't be saying things like "I would rather be dead". Although you may be broke before that happens. Don't be do condescending to other peoples styles. May not work for you but I don't remember anyone putting you in charge and with your prediction record it might be better to just let things alone. If you have some constructive let's hear it. don
The trading itself isn't boring to me but the lifestyle is. However, I'm kinda lucky as a 23 year old I'm in school so I have that. Anyways, the biggest thing I think that sucks even more than how boring the lifestyle is how no one else around me has anything to do with the market besides their 401k.
1. make statistics of your strategys and trades, there is never enough time for that......you can do this forever, and you will get better and better with it. beside that it trains yourself, to have all your rules in your mind all the time, so you must not always look into your rule book, when you wanna trade. or 2. Stop daytrading and do swingtrading, than you can do something else during the day. Dont ask me what, i dont know that either.
