How long do you think you last with any sizeable drawdown day trading with a company paying 6 figures? They expect profits nearly everyday. I did some contract work for oil companies, they expect much and seldom daily losses or your out. I have always considered trading a business, you work hard, learn and back in the 90's when S&P's were $500 a full point, one tick was $25 per nickel, you needed $12,500 for day margin. Commissions back then were $25 a roundturn, a great day was a 4 point range. Learning was slow but by 1993 I got the hang of it. By 1995 was doing ten lots, in 1997 was doing 100 lots cause exchange dropped point from $500 to $250 cause later that year they introduced E-mini S&P, ES. Now with watered down ES, have to do 500 lots for same buck back 1997, geez and now with mini mini ES, one day it be mmES at dime a point. For what it cost to buy seat at CME, took me 3 years to pay for it cause lower fees but I was doing 200-300 trades a day. Most on this forum don't have a clue how easier the costs have come down but harder to make profits cause computer trading. Got to always be learning.

Good Morning Handle123, I agree with you. I thank God everyday for the CME electronic ES futures market. It is blessing to wake up everyday and make money from the computer. Us ES traders are extremely blessed. Very easy to make money in peace.
