To day trade GLD or SLV, must my account have at least 25,000 USD in equity?

  2. Through a broker to day trade stocks or ETF's you need to have 25,000 in capital so, yes.

  3. yes ... ... these are ETF's and considered equities

    thus the PTD rules apply

however you can try mini futures

if my math is correct here

    1 YG = 330 shares GLD

    1 YI = 100 shares SLV

Volume for YI or ZI are not large enough?

I have account with IB but IB does not offer COMEX silver. That's why I consider other alternatives.

    Try ECBOT
    There's enough volume.

    ECBOT?

Are YI or YG traded in ECBOT?

Do you mean ZG or ZI traded in ECBOT?

  7. yes these mini futures also trade on ECBOT

YG - mini gold and trades on ECBOT
YI - mini silver and trades on ECBOT

    the present liquidity is sufficient
and the volume and daily 24 hour range is fine
for you to see if you can make a go at it

    good luck to you

    :)
