27 Nov summary It was quite a trendy day ie easy to trade day. summary of movers : Index futures : China A50, India Nifty, Simsci, hangseng NQ Commodities : copper, NG, oil, gold great sleepers : dax, bonds bonds have been sleeping for > 2 weeks. It might continue to sleep for months. Time to look out for other more tradable products and minimize my bond charts. Perhaps I should explore products from China Exchanges : DCE Dalian Commodity Exchange Shanghai Gold Exchange SHFE Shanghai Futures Exchange INE ZCE Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange
Just subscribed to OMX Swedish data fees. It will keep me a little busier. If I add those China exchanges products, I will be extremely extremely busy. Important info for OMXS30 Swedish Index Futures 1 tick = 0.25 points = SEK25 (about US$2.50) margin requirement ~ US$3K / lot contract months: every month chart volume: use 100V stop-loss : < 10 ticks expecting day range to be > 15 points for it to be tradable Lately, there was not much major change in Europe. So dax, stoxx50, omxs30 ... might not be that great for day trading.
OMXS30 trading If based on day range > 17 points for it to be tradable, the number of tradable days is 1 out of 3. It seems to be quite OK. for stoxx50, the number of tradable days is around 1 out of 15 ?!?!?!
Iron ore trading lately day range could be as high as 5%. typical day range: only 1% ie not that great. the biggest exchange is Dalian Commodity Exchange DCE Other exchanges which offers iron ore futures are CME, SGX, HKFE but their volume is very low. Let me try the futures from sgx product name : TSI iron ore CFR China (62%Fe fines) index futures symbol : FEF Contract size : 100 ton per contract tick value : US$1 = 0.01 point min price fluctuation : US$0.01 per ton margin : $1K daily volume : ~10K !?!?! stop loss : 30 - 40 ticks (Bid offer spread is horrible & terrible !!! ) If this is not tradable, I have to trade the DCE product
Iron ore no point trading iron ore futures through SGX. Better trade it through Dalian Commodity Exchange. Products available from DCE : iron ore coking coal metallurgical coke soya bean #1 soya bean #2 soybean oil soymeal corn corn starch RBD palm olein egg rice PVC Polypropylene PP LLDPE polyethylene ethylene glycol ethenylbenzene fibreboard blackboard LPG ________________ As usual, not all are suitable for day trading. OK. These things will keep me busy.
Sweden omxS30 what's happening to Sweden? It has been rather trendy. OK. enough of trading small quantities of omxs30. Starting tomorrow, I will increase my trading quantity strange ... they have this futures' cash, and futures' futures. what strange contracts. Let me figure it out later.

DCE OK. shortlisted these products for further studies : Iron ore soybean oil soymeal (for pigs ? ) RDB palm olein ( intercorrelated with soybean oil?) PVC polypropylene PP for other food futures, better let the farmers and spreaders trade it
More things to do .... Shanghai INE International Energy Exchange products : copper cathode low sulfur fuel oil TSR 20 rubber crude oil seems like one 42" monitor, & five 32" monitors are not sufficient. There are still 2 spare video ports. Time to consider hanging some on the wall.
