There are a number of setups (all common sense stuff) I consider after market close, one of which I have to decide right before the market close, for example today's LEN buy. I only search for setups upon a limited number of stocks I pre-selected as "good stock", of which the charts I understand. Then I determine the entry, the stop-loss, the target which if hit I exit. The size is $9,000 to $12,000, round to the 100s shares. At market close I review the entered positions if they have not stopped-out or reached target, basically let the winner run untill it seems to have stalled.

If the candidate list is too skewed to one side and/or market is at very overbought/oversold situation, I will buy QQQ out-of-money option to balance it on the dollar amount level. Crazy things do happen.

The idea is that small win/loss cancelled out, a few can run multiple days (3 - 5, 6 days) and deliver a good return.

I have backtested a few dozen randomly selected sessions across last several years. Each session I typicall can have a basket of 15 candidates from my 40 good-guy stock list. Among the 15 candidates, average 10 get the entry, at end of day, a couple stop out, a couple target out, and I close a few after the review at market close, and let the rest run another day with new, or old (most of time) stop/target prices.

The win/loss ration is a bit less than 2:1.

One time one position drawdown can be as large as -$1000, (the largest one).

One time one day drawdown: about -$500.

Average session gain: a couple of thousands.

By session I mean the positions I entered in the same day, some positions may run a few days.

The strategy is suitable for a $100,000 account, with 4:1 overnight margin. With a smaller account like the one I have, the statistics takes a long time to play out, a few bad lucks can ruin the whole thing. But I can only play with the cards dealt to me, so be it.

So far so good on both realtime paper trades and money trades.

Disclaimer: please do not do things or not-do things just based on my posts.
