The President Elevates Sarah Palin to New Heights
    2009 September 9
    David Horowitz
    .

Barack Obama gave the most important speech of his presidency tonight and it was a partisan speech which — as Ed Shultz put it on MSNBC — said to Republicans, “we’re going to roll over you.” We will see if this political calculation works, or whether the Democrats driven by their ideological passions have over-reached and made another political miscalcuation which will bring their numbers even further to the ground.

But perhaps the most remarkable moment of the speech — and certainly the most politically bone-headed — was to single out Sarah Palin and call her a liar because she has dramatized the indisputable fact that when you have governmen-controlled health care you have rationing, and when you have rationing you inevitably create a government bureaucracy which will encourage and then force elderly and infirm people to premature deaths. Palin’s image of “death panels” to capture what is the undeniable truth about the Democrats‘ plans (Greta Van Susteren actually read, on-camera, the passage from the bill which justifies Palin’s claim) was a politically brilliant stroke. In singling her out and defaming her tonight, the president made her the symbol of the opposition to the steamroller he is driving. And that’s the fight she wants and anyone opposed to the Democrats’ socialized scheme should want, too

  2. That could be the dumbest thing I've read in a long time.

The republicans have nothing to do with the passing of this bill, nor does Palin, Rush, Bush, Reagan, Cheney, Coulter, Beck, Hannity...I'm sure I'm missing someone...

The dems just don't have the balls to roll over themselves.

    Let the rolling begin!

  3. Too bad Palin, and for a fleeting moment, Joe Wilson, are the only republicans with the balls to call Obama out on his lies.

It's about time for some of their presumed presidential candidates to start acting like leaders rather than wusses.

  4. You people are dumb as always. What Joe Wilson did was wrong, with no ifs and buts about it. This is not a high school auditorium, there are certain rules to behave by. You just don't shout down President of the United States during a joint session of Congress. There is a place for debate and a place for tact and decorum.

Sarah Palin is a dumb cunt and Joe Wilson has a bad temper. Therei s nothing that sarah palin can enlighten the world on.

  5. I'd suggest your party pull the goalie.

  6. Eight

    Eight

When IShop... does his usual impersonation of a sick jerk, I really wish people would not quote him... we can't see his posts unless he's quoted..

  7. Agree 1000%. This is a GOLDEN opp for an articulate, right thinking member of the House to assert himself in the national consciousness by a few taking risks. If I'd been Wison-and his call out is EXACTLY something I'd do-I would have refused to apologize and if anything I would've thrown additional gasoline on the fire. How would this play with our guys AAA, "I'm sorry for the time and place of my remark but it's difficult for me as an American to keep my emotions in check when I see an American President-a dedicated pro-abortionist and socialist- take this great nation down the same road as Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez." Cripes, you'd raise a million in one day.

Does anyone in their right mind believe that a president whose devotion to late term abortion-a view far left of the mainstream-would allow a million dollars in public funds to be spent saving the life of an 80 year old suffering from diabetes? Yes there will be rationing and Palin called it what it is:death panels. Get used to it. White, elderly taxpayers who labored decades making this country great will subsidize through non-treatment illegals, shines, homos with aids, anyone who happens to be a leftist constituent.

And Obama cost me a $5 bet with my left-wing neighbor.

I predicted, given his speech was a virtually unprecedented-a non war declaration, non SOU to a joint session of Congress- that he'd at least pay respects to the brave U.S. troops dying in Iraq and Afghanistan. Not a word.

    Mercor

President Obama (D-Kenya)...calling Gov. Sarah Palin, now a private citizen, a liar in front of a joint Congress speech,
    ...Disgusting behavior...Obama apologize!!

"Some of people's concerns have grown out of bogus claims spread by those whose only agenda is to kill reform at any cost. The best example is the claim, made not just by radio and cable talk show hosts, but prominent politicians, that we plan to set up panels of bureaucrats with the power to kill off senior citizens. Such a charge would be laughable if it weren't so cynical and irresponsible. It is a lie, plain and simple."

  9. i think i will send money to help sara become the republican candidate in 2012.
how stupid can republicans be. they have all this time to put up a credible person and they want to blow it with that bimbo. she could not even run alaska.
why not get behind someone with a brain. whats wrong with newt or rommney? they at least are credible leaders. newt is the smartest republican i know. when he designed the contract with america it was brilliant.

  10. Romney. Looks good in a suit. Has money. Makes everybody feel good. He'll run against Hillary.
