* I do not make assumptions, I did put in the effort to go through the website: * I quote: Experience developing Windows applications. The QCollector Data Interface is language independent but you must be able to write code to send and receive Windows messages. That is not considered an API but a very crude and almost painful way to connect to the QCollector Interface. * I never claimed they do not provide tick data so not sure why you bring it up * I also never claimed you cannot buy it. I claimed it has not been updated since 2011 and since then Esignal discontinued the API, it would give a lot more assurance if someone could confirm that it still works. You sound you are absolutely certain of that and I simply ask what makes you so confident. Are you currently using it with Esignal? Does it work? Esignal said themselves (I chatted with them yesterday) that they do not provide any more API access to their servers. Why are you claiming a software application, that shows the last update from 2011 (which was when Esignal still offered the API), is still functional? Are you currently using it? Thanks
Seriously, is that what it is all about? Are you selling the product? I would not even pay a penny for something that I am not assured of that it works. As I stated I currently subscribe to the full Eikon terminal (though it is heavily discounted for personal, non corporate, use). Why can't we stick to facts and have to start throwing mud at each other?
And because you feel the need to reciprocate you are asking me to purchase a product for $129 that has been updated the last time in 2011 without any guarantee whether it is functional at all? At least I stick to topics and facts. It may upset those who disagree with facts. I feel bothered when individuals tout BS and falsehood, maybe that is where you animosity originates from? I thanked you now multiple times for your suggestions but your suggestion simply is not a path I want to pursue and I outlined why. Thanks again.
Try contacting mechtrading. They will answer your questions. Do let us know the answer in this thread.
I do not need to contact them, I already explained that the product does not suit me. I need a data provider that allows access via API and suits my other requirements. Mechtrading is a third-party interface that is over 6 years old and has not been updated since. Case closed.
Thanks, interesting alternative, I would need to check more into how I can secure my IP, I won't submit strategy code to their servers and I would need to check in how far they have access to the AWS instances they mention on the website.
Just a heads up do not waste your time with Esignal. I use Esignal for TSE/OSE data feeds and charting. Qcollector does not work anymore, I tested it yesterday on my Esignal account.
