It looks like it is plotting a value at 0. Can you remove whatever this plot is, either from code or visually from the graph?
Probably it is as you say, this is the beginning of the chart (I use Tradetsation 8), but I do not know where to modify the formula to make the indicator start from 10000 (it is an example):
The solution is shown here: https://futures.io/easylanguage-programming/57153-how-do-you-put-consolidation-into-el-2.html
Here are more Metastock formulas related to the Darvas method: http://www.sethi.org/investments/darvas/ https://www.traderji.com/community/threads/classic-darvas-box-formulas-for-metastock.9294/ http://forum.metastock.com/posts/m166451-Darvas-exploration--RESOLVED
Here you can download 3 Excel files with Darvas Boxes: https://www.mediafire.com/file/fdg0sf8c7cz5ti2/Darvas_Boxes_with_Excel.rar/file
I don't download files if I can avoid it. What does it do? Looks like it just draws boxes. There is a lot more to Darvis than just boxes.
The Excel files draw the Darvas boxes as in the inserted image, obviously anyone can add other functions and enhancements as they like.
That's what I thought. I found that if you draw them by hand for a while it becomes quite easy to recognise them just eyeballing a chart.
Among the books recommended by Nicolas Darvas, there is: Reminiscences- of a Stock operator https://archive.org/details/reminiscences-of-a-stock-operator_202104/mode/2up
Darvas' how I made 2m book is a classic, big fan here. I always use box ranges, both daily and intraday, when trading. His book is one of my top favorites. Brilliant strategy.
