Dangerously Cold Temperatures Pour Into Europe This Week

  1. Yeah. The reason US and Europe is SO F*n COLD this winter is global warming! We gotta do something about that!! (You know, like charge people a tax!)

  2. I bet there is a whole generation suddenly reading up on burst pipes and how to avoid.

Believe me, that is research you want to do, and not when you feel like getting around to it.

There was a whole generation in the 1970s learning how to deal with frozen burst pipes.

There was a whole generation in the 1930s learning how to deal with record heat without AC.

Global climate goes in natural cycles as it has for thousands of years.... we are near a peak of a warming cycle.... out in 2050 or so all the news will be about dealing with global cooling.

  4. If you are from Maine the frozen pipe cycle begins every year in November and ends in March. You don't have to wait for any generation changes.

I got baggage there. Lots of it. Nothing worse than having your pipes burst while you are out of town and are on city water. Then getting a bill for $3800.00 worth of water that flowed from the burst pipes. That's insult to injury right there. That is cost is before you even get to the damage to the house and re-plumbing required.

Yeh. Add another ten stories like that to it. The Winter Wonderland stuff gets old some years.

  6. Record cold temperatures in the last 80 years or so in a fair number of places the US and Canada does not fit the global warming narrative very well, especially since 2019 was similar as far as cold Winters are concerned. It is ironic that US weather news loves to dramatize weather events for increased viewership, but their hands are tied when events conflict with centralized political narratives. To get less biased US weather information, one needs to look at Canadian, UK, or other news sources outside the US. Embarrassing, isn’t it?

It gets worse. Truckers are forced to buy biodiesel made mainly from currently expensive corn. Biodiesel is notorious for causing starting and even operating problems during cold weather, as biodiesel is hydrophilic and tends to plug filters. A polar vortex several years ago left many truckers stranded, causing freight backlogs that did not clear for almost a year. Currently, the US is experiencing record or near record low truck availability relative to freight. Underplaying the serious of the cold by the media may cause some truckers to make operational mistakes, resulting in them being stranded and unable to deliver their load on time. This latest cold snap will only increase our current systemic strain. Further, children somewhere on this planet are starving while US truckers are forced to pay more for an inferior product that utilizes a food source because of a half baked Leftist fantasy of alternate energy sources are always good.

We are all better served when the media reports the facts and policy makers respond accordingly rather than attempt to maintain a fantasy world of the way things they think should be and attempt to manufacture or ignore stories that best serves their belief system, without regard to the suffering of others caused by them.

Two women in the U.K. attempt to heat up global cooling...

Two women are caught 'fornicating' in car on Dartmoor at 2am in -3C temperatures in breach of Covid rules
    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...r-2am-3C-temperatures-breach-Covid-rules.html

An amorous couple face being fined for breaking lockdown rules after they were caught 'fornicating under the stars' on Dartmoor on the coldest night of the year.

The two women were busted by a routine patrol in the early hours when the temperature was -3C near the village of Yelverton, Devon.

They had driven 10 miles from their homes in Plymouth and had parked up in a car park in West Dartmoor, a known dogging hotspot, when officers arrived just after midnight.

    AGW is a hoax.

Any climate deviation from 72-degF is now attributed to "global warming" regardless of the deviation being hot or cold.

AGW is a bludgeon to be used to implement socialism and suck the value out of your monetary assets. I'm not sure how it can be expressed any simpler.

  9. Dallas, TX is expected to have a low of 3 degrees F on Monday. Here is a list of record low temperatures for the city. Remember, as a city grows larger, it generates more heat, in both Winter and Summer, making adjustments necessary for historical temperatures comparisons if using as evidence for climate change.

Dallas - Lowest Temperature for Each Year

Here's where you'll find answers to your questions about the lowest temperatures and coldest days in Dallas, Texas. For instance: When was the last time Dallas got colder than 10 °F? How cold did Dallas get in 2018 or a century ago?

This page gives the lowest temperature for each year in Dallas and the date that it happened. A date with a plus sign beside it means the lowest temperature also occurred on at least one other day earlier that year.

These records go back to 1914, with just one year missing data. The lowest temperature measured during that time was -3 degrees Fahrenheit (-19 Celsius) on January 18, 1930.

Since 1940 the temperature extremes were observed at the Dallas Love Field Airport. Before then, the weather station was at downtown Dallas.
