  1. Lost some $ in the YM today. Went long at 9459, added at 9451, added at 9440, exited at 9444. I wasn't following my rules this afternoon so I probably deserved this :( Had a doctor's appt in the afternoon and figured I'd scalp for a few pts before I headed out and ended up losing...oh well, that's trading.

9-10 points is pretty tight scaling, doesn't leave much room/time for error.

  4. 1. My eSignal charts weren't working, but I traded anyway. I used my other charting platform and was watching the cash index. I should have stayed out since one of my tools was not working.

    2. Went against the trend. It was very clear to me that if the market was going anywhere, it was down. This is painfully obvious on the 10 min. chart. The TRIN being at 1.80 further knocked this one into stone.

    3. Instead of reversing my position immediately (what I usually do if I'm wrong), I kept feeding it more.

    4. Wasn;t feeling well (I have a cold/allergies), had a doctor's appt; didn't have enough time to trade; should have just stayed out.

    Lack of discipline this afternoon.

You need to space out more. YM is different to ES. It's hard to get ahead if you scale in so close.IMHO.

  6. Thanks for your insight. I usuallty don't scale into YM positions since I'm in and out. How much of difference do you recommend for scaling in? Every 20 pts?

Also feeling out of sorts today, picked up a stomach virus. If I had worked with YM instead of ES would be ahead.

It appears even 20 points could be too tight. It's more discretionary. Look at Damir he spreads according to day.

  9. Sorry to hear that. Went to the doc and he said it's probably allergies since I visited him last year right around the same time (9/12) and had allergies. Talk about a "trend" :D Before I left, doctor tells me he'll see me again next year right around this time :p

You learn from each of those experiences.

My worst losing day this year was one in which I was extremely tired and couldn't focus enough.
