duref - I do not think beauty is being established by gay photographers - they tried that with kate moss and the drugged out look. That did not go over nearly as well as the sports illustrated created super models. The bottom line is that beauty is a combination of symmetry and the shape of a women is determined by trend. when people were hungry they like fat women. when women were working in the South they liked pale women. During WW II it was a big strong women who could protect the family and handle a few days without food. Then it was being tan because of the beach culture in the 50s and 60s. Then it was twiggy - I don't know why that may have been because of the photogs. Now the ideal is the women who has a great shape but also keeps herself superfit. Due partially because so many people sit at a desk.
Nitro, there's a scene in "The Graduate" where Ann Bancroft is either in the rain or coming out of it, and she's just smokin'. When I locate it I'll post it.
