Ok, am up $360 and $20 in interest but movesd my limit to 1.34...I figure get out there and then wait and look for another possible entry.
I use IB. I've heard good and bad things about IB, but I like them. The fx spreads are reasonable and the commissions in general are low. I've heard that the spreads on FXCM are too wide. What's your opinion of FXCM? (I do like their software, by the way, and I use the free trial version for the news & data)
I\'ve had a good experience with them so far. Their spreads are actually fine, in my view. Down to 2 pips on EUR/USD if the market is liquid. I don\'t know about IBs spreads but I have always been suspicious of brokers offering anything below 2 pips as the banks offer the brokers 1 pips spreads (have a friend who works at a bank). I love the trading platform and they will be performing a major upgrade in the next few weeks that should make it even better, or so they say. Do you generally trade the EUR/USD? Or anything else?
Besides currency, I also trade stocks and ETFs to some extent. As for currencies, I trade the EUR/USD mostly, but I also watch - and sometimes trade - the GBP/USD, the USD/CHF, the USD/CAD, and AUD/USD.
Ok, so you\'re a majors kinda guy. The certainly move the most. I like to experiment. Depends on what is happening in the market. I tend to read a lot about different currencies and have found a couple of analysts I think have a good grasp of what is happening so sometimes I look into a pair that I normally would not trade like the AUD/CAD a few weeks back. How are ETFs for trading? I\'ve never tried.

They trade just like stocks. Sometimes they lag a little behind the price that they're supposed to be tracking - especially the commodity ETFs - but I trade them because I don't have time to research the individual companies. So I trade the entire market - the Dow ETF, or the China ETFs, the Brazilian ETFs, etc.
Yeah, plus I would prefer to profit on the market as a whole than just off one stock...one bad blurb from a board member and you're stuck....I'm still in my trade btw. Right now I'm down a little but I think I'll be able to clsoe out with a profit...good thing is I am still earning carry $50 so far
