Interestingly, the number of daily recovered patients has surpassed the number of new infections so the 'stock' of people ill has started to drop (also because some patients are dying)

If China is making up these numbers to "calm people down" why they allowed that huge spike on feb 12? Truth is, panic is good for them, it helps control the disease. It helps people to comply with quarantines as well

  5. Sounds like the unemployment data that gets reported. Some people count some don't.Still waiting for reports from the African and South American continents. Whatever way that gets the most placating points.

  7. I'm currently in Italy, Turin and the situation here is pretty ok, some businesses are closed and schools are closed, but the panic hasn't completely risen yet which is good, considering the numbers keep going up. althoufgh i have a feeling like people here are gettingused to it so it's not really shocking anymore

Lots of people are recovering and a small fraction (tiny for people less than 50 years old) are dying

  10. SINGAPORE - Two new cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) were confirmed by the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Wednesday (Feb 26) and four others have recovered and were discharged.

This brings the total number of cases here to 93, of which 62 have fully recovered.

    [...]

The ministry said most of the 31 patients still in hospital are in stable condition or improving, but seven are in critical condition in the intensive care unit....

Seems, Singapore does understand a thing or two about containing the virus and keep their people alive...
